On arrival at Cape Town International Airport you will be met by your guide who will present your detailed travel documents. You will then enjoy a City Orientation Tour en route to the One & Only Hotel located within the V&A Waterfront 

The rest of the day and evening is at leisure to relax and perhaps enjoy some Spa treatments after your long flight.  Dinner is for your own arrangement and account.  Your guide will be able to give you some suggestions and the Concierge at the hotel will assist with table reservations and to book a taxi to take you there and back.

You travel to the historical university town of Stellenbosch. The town is known as the Town of Oaks due to many the centuries-old oak trees that line the streets.  The town features both Cape Dutch national monument buildings that happily co-exist alongside the more modern campus buildings.

After a delicious breakfast and at a time arranged with your guide you will be collected for another fabulous day of exploring this historical area.

The Cape Winelands are internationally famous not only for their wines but also their cheeses and delicious olive oils; gourmet restaurants and art galleries. 

The estates in Franschhoek take their heritage from the French Huguenots who fled Europe in the early 1800’s to escape religious persecution and were given farms in the valley by the then Dutch Governor – Simon van der Stel.

Paarl was the region given to the Germans on their arrival in the Cape and their full bodied red wines and brandies are what make this town famous.  Guests are able to enjoy not only great wines but also European award-winning Camembert, brie and goats’ cheeses to die for!

Enjoy breakfast in the hotel and then complete check-out procedures before meeting your guide in the hotel foyer.

The route takes you along the N2 highway and then along the very scenic Clarence Drive which hugs the mountain on your left and the Indian Ocean on your right with magnificent views across False Bay.  Travelling via the various seaside towns of Gordon’s Bay, Rooi Els, Pringle Bay, Betty’s Bay and Kleinmond you will notice the indigenous flora on the mountain slopes on your left.

Hermanus is known as the Riviera of the South and is internationally famous for being one of the best land based whale watching sites in the world.  The Southern Right Whales usually make their appearance around July and stay until they have finished calving and mating before their long swim back to Antarctica in early December.

The nearby Hemel-en-Aarde Valley (Heaven & Earth) is home to some of SA’s best wineries, namely, Bouchard Finlayson, Hamilton Russell and many more.

During your time in Cape Town the guide will discuss with you about whether you would like to go directly to Hermanus (approx. 1½ hours) or perhaps do some sightseeing and make some interesting stops as there is so much to see and do along the way.

Check-in at the hotel and decide how you would like to spend the rest of the day.

Your tour guide will have already asked you many questions about any particular special interests you may have and will try to include as many of these as possible during your time together. 

Spend the day exploring Hermanus and all it has on offer.  There are far too many options to mention but here are a few.

There is a wonderful cliff path walk that starts at the one end of Walker Bay and continues all the way around the town so one can choose how far you want to walk or drive while gazing across the ocean and perhaps also have some excellent whale sightings in the coves below the rocks along the path.  Hermanus is also home to many wonderful and talented artists of all genres. The Fernkloof Nature Reserve is beautiful place to explore the forest on the mountain slopes and do some serious bird watching.

A visit to the new harbor to see the fishermen bringing in their daily catches can also be very entertaining. Within a 15-minute drive of Hermanus is the historical town of Stanford and a further 10 minutes along the coast one can do shark cage diving in Gansbaai.  This activity needs to be pre-booked well in advance to avoid disappointment.

Late afternoon return to the hotel and the evening will be at leisure.

Knysna is built on the northern shore of a large warm-water lagoon fed by the Knysna River. The lagoon exits into the Indian Ocean after passing between to large mountainous outcrops known as The Heads.  Knysna is a popular destination for both international and local tourists as it enjoys a year-round warm climate.  Knysna is also well known for its local arts & crafts industry ranging from beautiful woodwork and pottery to more formal galleries of well-known local artists.

Enjoy a trip to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, situated on the Western Head in Knysna.  Highlights include:

  • Return ferry trip on the Knysna Lagoon to the Western Head.
  • 4x4 vehicle & trailer drive up the headland onto the Reserve, stopping at spectacular viewpoints.
  • Specialist guide giving information on history, fauna & flora.
  • Optional guided 2.2km walk through coastal forest and fynbos into ancient sea caves.

  • Visit to Monkeyland - The world’s first free-roaming multi-species primate sanctuary (located in The Crags, near Plettenberg Bay).  On this "monkey safari", you'll see more than 550+ primates ranging from capuchin monkeys to ringtail and black-and-white ruffed lemurs in their forest home!  You will also experience the 128-metre suspended canopy walk whilst on tour.

  • Visit Birds of Eden - The unique two hectare dome (the world’s largest) spans over a gorge of indigenous forest. Currently it is home to over 3,500 birds from over 220 species, with the main focus being African birds. The award winning bird sanctuary provides a forever home where previously caged birds can live a life of free-flight in a habitat as large and natural as is possible.

You transfer to Kruger Mpumalanga Airport this morning and check-in for a scheduled flight to Livingstone, Zambia.  On your arrival in Livingstone, you are met and transferred to the Victoria Falls Hotel in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

The Victoria Falls Hotel is one of the world’s Classic five-star hotels commands prime location overlooking Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, an acclaimed Natural Wonder of the World. For more than 110 years The Victoria Falls Hotel has been a luxury icon in Africa.

Your guide will meet you in the hotel foyer for a guided tour of the Victoria Falls.

The beautiful Victoria Falls is located within the Victoria Falls National Park (on the Zimbabwe side), and the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park (on the Zambia side).  Described by the Kololo tribe living in the area in the 1800’s as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’ – ‘the Smoke that Thunders’ and in more modern terms as ‘the greatest known curtain of falling water’.

  • Enjoy an exhilarating 12/13-minute helicopter flight over the Victoria Falls. - The spectacular helicopter fight over the Victoria Falls is known as "the flight of angels".  After take-off the helicopter turns towards the Victoria Falls, the pilot will fly left and right hand circuits over the Falls in both directions giving you the best viewing, photographic and filming opportunities.

  • Enjoy a relaxing sunset cruise on the Zambezi Explorer.  (minimum 2 pax) - The Zambezi Sunset cruise is a superb way to relax and enjoy the spectacular beauty of the Zambezi River.  There are great photo opportunities against often-spectacular African sunsets. Flocks of birds skim the waterline as the sun sets behind the African skyline. Take the opportunity to see a variety of game; including hippo, crocodile, and elephant as well as enjoy the many different bird species. After breakfast and check-out procedures at the Victoria Falls Hotel, you are met and transferred to Kasane in Botswana.  Once immigration formalities are completed, you depart on your adventure by boat to the Zambezi Queen.

Once all guests have boarded in the late afternoon, after a safety breathing and if the weather permits, we'll go in search of some big game by tender boat.  This is the perfect time of the day to make the most of that golden glow of the African sunset by getting some iconic shots of the animals as they gravitate towards the river before night falls.

Return back to the Zambezi Queen and freshen up before meeting your host on the upper deck with a  welcome drink followed by a delectable three-course dinner.  Finish off with an espresso or nightcap at the bar before retiring to the night sounds of Africa in the distance.

After your morning activities, enjoy lunch on board while using your unique vantage point to spot wild animals and drink in the expansive views. Join our guide in the afternoon for a water-based safari on a tender boat where you can get up close to an array of wildlife, including some of the 120 000 elephants for which the Chobe is well known. After a delicious dinner, settle down for a restful and tranquil night in your luxurious suite.
