Get to witness the most spectacular phenomenon on Earth, the Aurora Borealis, at the historic Bettles Lodge, located directly under the Auroral Band where the highest Aurora activity in the northern hemisphere takes place. Travel to Bettles, home of the Gates of the Arctic National Park & Preserve, via a scenic flight over the stunning Yukon region and Arctic Circle.
Whilst waiting for the beautiful Aurora or Northern Lights to paint the cloud-free night sky, enjoy a tour around a secluded village or relax in a warming cabin, sipping hot chocolate, tea, or coffee. During the day, you may enjoy winter activities at your own pace, such as snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
Depart Fairbanks on your scenic flight over the Yukon River and above the Arctic Circle. The Bettles Lodge staff will greet you at the airplane to take your luggage and show you to the lodge for check in.
After breakfast, enjoy a guided snow shoe excursion or a self-guided cross-country ski around the lodge. In the evening, enjoy a bonfire out by the fire pit.
