Explore the highlights of Western Canada through the Canadian Rockies and unearth the splendours of Alaska’s wilderness for 15 days. This itinerary will take you to the famous cities and towns of Western Canada, such as Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise, Victoria, and Vancouver. You will also cross the border to discover Alaska with its magnificent Glacier Bay, capital city of Juneau, and the town of Ketchikan. Aside from taking in spectacular landscapes made of snow-capped mountains and sparkling lakes on board Rocky Mountaineer, you will also have the chance to take part in thrilling activities, such as a ride on the massive Ice Explorer to visit the famous Athabasca Glacier, a walk on the glass-bottomed Glacier Skywalk, a scenic cable car ride on Banff Gondola, and a delightful cruise across Glacier Bay National Park. Transfer from downtown Calgary to Banff by coach. Remainder of the day of leisure in Banff.

Discover Banff, its wildlife and Banff Gondola on this day tour. Tour highlights include: Bow Falls, Banff Springs Hotel, Bankhead (an abandoned mining town and relic of Banff’s industrial past), Surprise Corner, Hoodoos & Bow Valley Viewpoint, Lake Minnewanka, and Banff Gondola.

Banff - Kamloops (Rocky Mountaineer)

All aboard Rocky Mountaineer for the scenic rail journey to Kamloops in the interior of British Columbia.

Kamloops - Vancouver (Rocky Mountaineer)

Re-board Rocky Mountaineer and travel to Vancouver, arriving in the late afternoon.

Today, you will enjoy a sightseeing tour of Vancouver’s magnificent North Shore, visiting Capilano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain where you’ll take the Skyride to the Peak of Vancouver with breathtaking views.

Your Alaska journey starts early this afternoon at the Vancouver cruise terminal, where you board your cruise.

Vancouver - Victoria

After breakfast, you will disembark in Vancouver where your cruise tour ends. Make your own way to the meeting point to depart Vancouver on a driver guided coach tour to Victoria. Cruise across Georgia Strait through the beautiful Gulf Islands with BC Ferries. Arriving on Vancouver Island, tour to Butchart Gardens (Admission included). A two hour stop allows time to enjoy these magnificent gardens. Tour scenic Ocean Drive, Uplands, Oak Bay, University of Victoria, as well as Victoria City before being taken to your hotel in Victoria.

Day 14

This morning, join a whale watching tour. This coastal excursion is an exhilarating round trip of 50 to 80 kilometres in search of Orcas, minke whales, grey whales, porpoises, harbour seals and other marine wildlife. Comments by a certified Marine biologist and naturalist are provided. Balance of the day is free to explore Victoria.

Victoria - Vancouver

Enjoy a free day to explore Victoria before departing mid-afternoon on a scenic float plane flight to return to Coal Harbour Downtown Vancouver.
