Board Rocky Mountaineer for the famous all-daylight rail journey through the Canadian Rockies. This trip offers breathtaking vistas and informative commentary along the way.

Banff

This morning, tour the town of Banff and its environs. Among the highlights are visits to the Hoodoos, Surprise Corner, Bow Falls, Lake Minnewanka and the Banff Gondola for a breathtaking ascent to the pinnacle of Sulphur Mountain. Return to downtown Banff at your leisure.

Banff – Lake Louise
Depart Banff early afternoon for a short drive via the scenic Bow Valley to Lake Louise.
Day 5
Lake Louise – Jasper

Your sightseeing tour today will encompass the ultimate glacier exploration as you travel along the spectacular Icefields Parkway. From walking on ancient ice at the Glacier Adventure (included), to standing on a glass platform almost one thousand feet in the air at the Glacier Skywalk (included), today’s experiences will leave you with a special appreciation for this treasured region of the Rockies. Picnic lunch is included today. Note:

Travel by coach for a full-day tour through the orchard-laden Niagara Peninsula to Niagara Falls. Tour includes: Hornblower Niagara Falls Cruise or Journey Behind the Falls, a meal overlooking Niagara Falls, free time in Niagara on the Lake and a winery tour including a wine tasting.

Toronto – Montreal

By rail, enter French Canada and arrive in the vibrant city of Montreal. There will be plenty of stunning views along the way of the blue expanse of Lake Ontario, the lovely farmland of rural Quebec and the shores of the St. Lawrence River.

Montreal – Quebec City – Montreal

Quebec City is the heart of French Canada. Nowhere else in North America is the appearance and atmosphere of an old-world city so complete. Quebec City looks and feels very European. Today qualified guides will help you discover the enchanting sights which are part of Quebec City’s history.

Montreal

This morning, enjoy a comprehensive 3-hour tour of Montreal, taking in over 20 points of interest including the Notre Dame Basilica, St. Joseph’s Oratory, Old Montreal, the French Quarter, views of the Olympic Site and a panoramic view over the city from Mt. Royal.

Montreal – Moncton

The morning is at leisure to explore the city of Montreal. Later in the afternoon, board VIA Rail to Moncton. This evening, enjoy the scenic vista through the rural communities of Quebec’s south shore. Overnight on VIA Rail in a cabin for two.

Moncton – Charlottetown

Wake to views of the Atlantic Ocean, rolling hills, and quaint coastal villages that appear frozen in time. Shortly before lunch, arrive in the city of Moncton. Upon disembarking the train, take a private transfer to Charlottetown via the Confederation Bridge. This 13-kilometre bridge joins Cape Jourimain, New Brunswick and Borden-Carleton, Prince Edward Island and is the longest bridge over ice covered waters in the world.

Prince Edward Island Tour

Today, enjoy views of rolling farmlands, stunning seascapes, tiny villages and bustling harbours along the Green Gables Shore (scenic drive) as we get ready to tour the North Shore area. Brief photo stops will be made at quaint little fishing villages, lighthouses and world class PEI National Park – Cavendish Beach. Tour Green Gables House, an old farm site that inspired L.M. Montgomery’s first novel, Anne of Green Gables. A must-see attraction will be at Prince Edward Island Preserve Company, located in one of Canada’s prettiest villages. The company uses locally grown fruit to make delicious jams and marmalades.

Charlottetown

Discover the history and charm of Canada’s Birthplace as you ride through the streets of Charlottetown. View Province House, Beaconsfield, Historic Great George Street, Charlottetown Driving Park, The Lieutenant Governor’s House, Victoria Park, University of Prince Edward Island, residential areas, and much more. Then, early afternoon, depart on a private transfer back over the Confederation Bridge to Moncton.

Hopewell Rocks & Bay of Fundy

Today's full day tour is the best way to experience the dramatic rise and fall of the Bay of Fundy tides. You’ll see the world’s highest tides, pristine vistas, intriguing fossils, dramatic coastal landscapes near Cape Enrage, the charming fishing village of Alma and the oldest operational lighthouse on mainland New Brunswick. These world heritage sites will take your breath away.

Moncton – St. Andrews-by-the-Sea

This morning is at leisure to enjoy the sites of Moncton before you transfer (included) to the resort town of St. Andrews-by-the-Sea.

St. Andrews-by-the-Sea
This afternoon, experience the magnificence of the Bay of Fundy. Embark on a whale watching tour and immerse yourself in a marine ecosystem unlike anywhere else in the world. From nature’s largest mammals to unspoiled coastal scenery, highlights and wildlife sights can include finback, minke, humpback, right whales, harbour porpoise, seals, bald eagles, various bird colonies, lighthouses, salmon farms, and herring weirs.

Today is yours to explore St. Andrews.

Day 22
St. Andrews-by-the Sea – Halifax
This morning, transfer to the Moncton train station and board VIA Rail for the last leg of your Canadian journey. Your final train journey will travel from the province of New Brunswick and into the province of Nova Scotia and the capital city of Halifax. Your journey through history and across Canada concludes with your arrival at the Halifax train station where your journey ends.
