From Vancouver, board the Rocky Mountaineer and travel to Whistler, home to Whistler Blackcomb, until you reach Quesnel. From Quesnel, your Rockies adventure continues to the awe-inspiring Jasper National Park, the largest park in the Canadian Rockies. Declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this park offers jaw-dropping landscape from the glistening glaciers of Columbia Icefield and Athabasca Glacier, Maligne Lake, the thundering Athabasca Falls and abundant wildlife. Then continue, to Lake Louise. From Lake Louise, explore the national parks of Yoho and Banff. You also have time to explore the resort town of Banff, located within Banff National Park, Canada’s oldest national park. Explore Banff’s highlights including Lake Minnewanka, Bow Falls and Banff Gondola. Your tour ends as you go back to the bustling city of Vancouver via Kamloops.

Day 1
Vancouver - Whistler (Rocky Mountaineer)

Today, Rocky Mountaineer takes you on a breathtaking rail journey through the stunning scenery of the Sea to Sky Corridor. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.

Whistler - Quesnel (Rocky Mountaineer)

Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer to the charming rural town of Quesnel, gateway to the North Cariboo.

Day 3
Quesnel - Jasper (Rocky Mountaineer)

This morning, re-board Rocky Mountaineer for your continuing journey to Jasper. Your route today follows the famous Fraser River. Enjoy breakfast and lunch onboard. Keep your eyes open for grizzly, moose, beaver and osprey! Crossing into the province of Alberta, you will arrive by late afternoon in the peaceful alpine town of Jasper.

Day 4
Jasper - Maligne Valley
This introduction to Jasper begins with a short tour of the town before heading across the Athabasca River to Maligne Lake. Stopping at Maligne Canyon to enjoy the views of the river thundering through a series of magnificent waterfalls. Once at Maligne Lake, you can enjoy an interpretative boat cruise bound for Spirit Island, truly another of Canada's iconic images.
Day 5
Jasper - Lake Louise
Travel by coach today via one of the most scenic highways in North America, the Icefields Parkway. Visit the Columbia Icefield and visit the Ice Explorer ride (included) on the Athabasca Glacier, then a stop at the award winning Glacier Skywalk (included) to experience a glass-floored observation platform. After, continue along the Icefield Parkway where stops will be made at Bow and Peyto Lakes, the Crowfoot Glacier and the Athabasca Falls. Ending your day in Lake Louise.

Today, you will visit the Canadian Rockies on an excursion through Banff and Yoho National Parks.

Lake Louise - Banff
Depart Lake Louise mid-morning for a short drive via the scenic Bow Valley to Banff, arriving mid-day.
Day 8
Banff
This morning, tour the town of Banff. Among the highlights are visits to the Hoodoos (shaped by centuries of wind) and Bow Valley Viewpoint, Surprise Corner, Bow Falls, Lake Minnewanka and Bankhead: an abandoned mining town and the relic of Banff’s industrial past. At the end of the tour you will be taken to the Banff Gondola for a breathtaking ascent to the pinnacle of Sulphur Mountain for an awe-inspiring 360-degree panorama of sheer mountain majesty. Return to downtown Banff at your leisure.
Day 9
Banff - Kamloops - Vancouver (Rocky Mountaineer)

All aboard Rocky Mountaineer for the scenic rail journey to Kamloops.

Kamloops - Vancouver (Rocky Mountaineer)
Re-board Rocky Mountaineer and follow the Thompson River through Ashcroft. Pass through Rainbow Canyon with its cliffs striped with pinks, greens and greys creating a stunning effect. The last leg of the journey takes you through the lush farming region of the Fraser Valley to arrive in the Pacific port of Vancouver late afternoon. Your journey ends after you have disembarked the train.
