7-day cycling tour of the Languedoc region from Carcassonne to Sete

Explore the charming cities and towns of Carcassonne, Narbonne, Beziers, Sete, Cap d’Agde and Saint-Pierre-des-Champs

Soak in the beautiful sights of the sun-soaked Languedoc region as you cycle from Carcassonne to Sete during this memorable, 7-day biking tour. Start your adventure in the fortified city of Carcassonne as you pedal along the bike path that follows the historic canal until you reach the lovely village of Saint-Pierre-des-Champs. Continue to the historic port town of Narbonne, known for its beautiful Gothic cathedral. From Narbonne, journey to the scenic countryside until your reach Beziers, one of the oldest cities in France. Then, travel to Cap d’Agde, a seaside resort located on the Mediterranean coast. From Cap d’Agde, cycle to Sete, a charming port city known as the Venice of Languedoc.

Day 1

Arrive at your hotel. This evening, orientation and bike set up at your hotel.

Day 2
Carcassonne – Saint-Pierre-des-Champs (56 km)

Leaving Carcassonne, cycle on a quiet and wide bike path that follows the canal. Continue south of the canal to the charming village of Saint-Pierre-des-Champs. Flat to rolling terrain, some sections are on a trail.

Day 3
Saint-Pierre-des-Champs – Narbonne (62 km or 77 km)

Today takes you to the larger town of Narbonne where you can visit the impressive Gothic cathedral and old city. The cycling routes do veer off the Canal du Midi and take the Canal de la Robine which goes to Narbonne.

Day 4
Narbonne – Beziers (47 km)

The cycling route goes into the countryside today following small country roads into the city of Beziers.

Day 5
Beziers – Cap d’Agde (41 km)

Leaving Beziers far behind, you cycle to Cap d'Agde, a lovely station on the Mediterranean Sea. Some sections along the Canal du Midi are on a trail.

Day 6
Cap d’Agde – Sete (27 km)

This is a relatively short ride to Sete, travelling along the coastal area between the Thau Lagoon and the sea. Flat riding.

Day 7

End of services following breakfast at your hotel.
