Experience the scenic countryside of Provence during this unforgettable, 7-day walking tour. From Les Baux-de-Provence to Gordes, one of the most beautiful hilltop village of France, admire the picturesque landscape and sleepy villages along the way.
Upon arrival in Avignon, transfer to Les Baux de Provence to your hotel. Orientation in person with our local guide in the evening.
A small route that is part of the GR 6 will take you along from the citadel of Les Baux de Provence and back to your hotel.
At the monastery of Saint-Paul de Mausole, hit the trail that will lead you to the crest of the Alpilles at Eygalieres where you will stay the night. You follow the GR6 on a narrow path which is impressive and can be challenging. For some short sections you will need to use hands to climb over boulders, but it’s not too complicated.
About 1 km south of the village, pick up the trail that will take you to Gordes visiting the Romanesque Senanque Abbey along the way if you wish.
Transfer by taxi to Isle Sur La Sorgue. See also the 12th century church and then hike on to Fontaine de Vaucluse also famous for a Romanesque church.
A walk along quiet roads and dirt path of the GR6 GR 97 will lead you to Roussillon, then through the Luberon valley before retuning to Gordes.
This morning, you will transfer back to Avignon rail station. End of services.
