The 7-passenger luxury Savannah is a great choice for those who crave an authentic experience along the Canal du Midi. In the 1980s, the barge was transformed from a 1938 cargo tanker into a luxurious showroom for the iconic cosmetic group l’Occitane en Provence. Now totally refurbished, the barge welcomes you to its enhanced features including a large terrace, saloon, luxurious air conditioned cabins, and exquisite cuisine. Your cruising holiday includes visits to the fortified city of Carcassonne, the pretty village of Minerve, and wine tasting and lunch at Château de Pennautier.

You will be met and transferred by private chauffeured minibus to Savannah Barge for a champagne welcome followed by dinner on board.
Discover Minerve, considered one of the prettiest villages in France. After a walk through this unique village and the surrounding valley, your guide will accompany you to an exceptional Minervois vineyard where you will enjoy your first wine tasting of the week. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon cruise, choose to relax on the sundeck or take the opportunity to stroll and cycle along the canal.
After breakfast, you'll have a morning visit to Narbonne, a regional capital established in 118 BC. Discover the Roman pavements of the Via Domitia and visit the Saint Just Cathedral and Episcopal Palace. The chef will join you and together you will discover the exceptional produce of Languedoc Roussillon region and choose the fresh ingredients that will comprise the gastronomic meals on board. Take lunch in the marketplace, and in the afternoon cruise the outskirts of Carcassonne towards the palm tree lined lock of Villedubert.
Breakfast will be served whilst slowly cruising towards the port of Carcassonne, our lunchtime destination. You will visit the fortified city of Carcassonne; discover the medieval town, its fort and the cathedral.
After breakfast on board, visit the Château de Pennautier. Wine tasting and lunch will be hosted in the domain followed by time to relax and enjoy the Castle gardens.
After breakfast, abandon the Canal du Midi for the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains. Mirepoix, a magnificent medieval town in Ariège waits for you. Discover the Midi Pyrénées region, architecturally and visually different from the Languedoc visited previously. Upon your return, navigate through the Lauragais to your final destination and enjoy a champagne farewell drink with the crew and your last exclusive dinner on board.
After breakfast, you will be transferred by private chauffeured minibus to a local train station, hotel or airport.
