From Sorrento, travel to Puglia stopping in Matera, a city in the Basilicata region known for the its historical centre, Sassi. Described as one of the most unique landscapes in Europe by Fodor’s, Sassi di Matera is known for its ancient cave dwellings since the Paleolithic period. Continue to Alberobello where you will stay for two nights. Depart for Lecce, known as the “Florence of the South”, the city is packed with romantic Baroque buildings and historic churches. Explore Ostuni, a city known for its whitewashed houses perched on top of a hill overlooking the Adriatic Sea. In Alberobello, visit the traditional houses called trulli. You will visit a farm near Alberobello for a wine tasting and light lunch. Then, head to the stunning Amalfi Coast, your last stop for this tour.

Meet your group early this morning and then transfer to Puglia, stopping in Matera to visit the famous “Sassi”, one of the most impressive sites in the UNESCO World Heritage list. After the visit, continue to Alberobello. Dinner will be served at the hotel tonight.
After breakfast, depart for Lecce, an ancient settlement of the Messapii tribes. It is the principal Baroque city of Apulia. This morning, our local guide will bring this and more to light. After lunch (on your own), you'll move on to Ostuni, the White City, perched on a hill overlooking the Adriatic Sea and inhabited at least since 1000 BC by native peoples.
After breakfast, you’ll join an excursion to Alberobello, a village of one thousand fairy tale-like “Trulli”, round white houses with tall conical roofs. Your tour leader will explain their mysterious origins and why people continue to build them. After the tour, you will visit a farm near Alberobello for a tasting of their excellent “Primitivo” wine (with light lunch) and a visit to the Wine Museum. Then, visit Martina Franca and its beautiful old city centre. In the afternoon, proceed to Amalfi Coast via the magnificent and breathtaking Amalfi Drive before staying overnight.
Around noon leave for Rome. End of tour.
