Steeped in rich history and culture, Sicily is a mix of cultures, where Greek and Arab influences can be found in the architecture, ancient ruins and cuisines. Start your self-drive holiday in Palermo. Depart for Marsala, a coastal town in western Sicily known for its ancient ruins and wine. In the afternoon, proceed to Erice, a medieval hilltop town offering panoramic views of Trapani, Marsala, Capo San Vito and the Aegadian Islands. Depart for Pollina and visit a farm. Learn how local pastries and desserts are made and enjoy some tastings. Return to Palermo and explore the city at your leisure. Continue to Agrigento, an ancient city known for the Greek ruins of Valley of the Temples. Enjoy a guided tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Head to the beautiful cities of Ragusa, Modica and Syracuse. Explore the Baroque buildings and landmarks in each city and enjoy authentic local dishes paired with superb wines. Your last stop is the hilltop town of Taormina. The town is known for its Greek-Roman theatre and sandy beaches.

Collect your car and drive to your hotel in Palermo. Enjoy a welcome dinner.
Depart for Marsala, the city renowned for its production of the wine of the same name. Enjoy a wine tasting, followed by lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, proceed to Erice, a magnificent medieval city in a spectacular hilltop setting. It is recommended to visit the Pasticceria Maria Grammatico, an old pastry shop, to try some of the local delights.
Morning departure for Pollina to visit a farmhouse. Have lunch and visit the farm. Discover how the ancient pastries and desserts were prepared with the slow food presidium, accompanied by some samples. Return to Palermo and explore the city at your leisure. It is recommended you try the pastries at the Pasticceria Scimone, which sells the famous cannoli and baba.
Visit the old city of Agrigento and enjoy lunch at the typical Trattoria Terra. In the afternoon, take a guided tour of the Valley of the Temples, testament to the ancient Greek civilisation in Sicily.
Visit Ragusa, known for its Sicilian style Baroque architecture and explore the old and new cities at leisure. Proceed to Modica, the ancient capital of the county and famous for the Aztec-inspired chocolate, to enjoy a tasting. Continue to Siracusa and enjoy dinner in the historical town centre of Ortigia.
Continue to Taormina, stopping en route at a vineyard, where prestigious wines are produced, for a tasting accompanied by local produce.
Enjoy a guided tour of Taormina and visit the Greek theatre. Rest of the day is at leisure.
