Embark on a gourmet adventure in one of Italy’s most scenic regions. Imagine rolling hills, expansive vineyards, medieval walled towns and local delicacies. Once you’re in Tuscany, you’ll never want to leave again. Start your self-drive holiday in Florence, Tuscany’s capital and the birthplace of Renaissance. Enjoy a half-day tour of the city and visit some of its most important landmarks including the Duomo complex, Piazza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio. Head to the lovely medieval city of Siena, famous for the Palio horse race until you reach the charming village of San Gimignano, known for its medieval architecture and towers. Explore the wine-producing region of Chianti and enjoy a wine tasting. Visit a cheese producer in Pienza and Montalcino, famous for its red wines.

Day 1

Collect your car and drive to the Villa Il Palagio, near Florence. Enjoy a welcome dinner.

Day 2

Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Florence and lunch at a typical restaurant. This afternoon is at leisure. Perhaps visit one of Florence’s oldest ice cream parlours.

Day 3
Siena - San Gimignano

Visit Siena and sample some traditional desserts in one of the famous pastry shops. On the way to San Gimignano, enjoy lunch at a family-run farmhouse. In the afternoon, visit the famous towers and the San Gimignano 1300 Museum.

Day 4

Today is dedicated to discovering the Chianti hills. Visit a winery in Radda in Chianti, meet the wine producer, visit the cellars and enjoy wine tasting. Proceed to the historic town of Greve. It is recommended to stop at the famous butcher's shop, Antica Macelleria Falorni, to see its incredible selection of salamis and hams. In the afternoon, visit another winery for wine and oil tasting.

Day 5
Montepulciano - Pienza

Depart for the medieval city of Montepulciano and visit a winery for a tasting. In the afternoon, head for Pienza. Visit a pecorino cheese producer, learn something about the cheese making process and sample the fare.

Day 6

Morning departure for Montalcino, famous for its brunello, one of the best red wines in the world. Return to Florence area and join a cooking class dedicated to the Tuscany tradition, followed by dinner.
