Wander around the medieval town of Obidos, admire the Gothic church of Alcobaca, and marvel at the high vaulted ceilings and original stain glass windows of the Monastery of Santa Maria de Victoria in Batalha. Visit the famous Marian Shrine in Fatima and see the historic University of Coimbra with its enchanted library. Continue to Porto, a coastal city known for its sumptuous food and wine, and then take part in an exciting tour to the world-famous Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage site. Travel to Lisbon, the largest and most charismatic city of Portugal, to experience its welcoming atmosphere. Set off for Evora, a museum-city bursting with remarkable ancient structures, such as the Roman Temple, the Cathedral of Évora, the Gothic Church of St. Francis, and the daunting Chapel of Bones. After having your fill of Portugal’s fascinating history and tradition, move on to Algarve for a breath of fresh Atlantic air. Witness a coastline of dramatic scenery in Lagos, stop by Sagres to catch a glimpse of its sun-kissed beach, and proceed to Cabo São Vincente to take in breathtaking natural landscapes made of jagged cliffs and raging waves. On your way back to Lisbon, travel through the panoramic Arrábida mountain range.

Day 1
Lisbon - Óbidos - Alcobaça - Nazaré - Batalha - Fátima

Travel by landscapes that are rich in windmills and fruit trees to Óbidos, which is surrounded by medieval walls. Here, you admire the architecture of the city and the diversity of the handicrafts. You will also be able to taste the famous ‘ginginha’ (bitter cherry liqueur). Visit Alcobaça with the first and largest gothic church in Portugal. You will then stop in Nazaré, a typical fishing village, with its traditions and legends. Continue to Batalha and visit the Monastery of Santa Maria de Victoria. After you arrive in Fátima, visit the famous Marian Shrine. Tonight, there is a possibility to join the candle procession.

Day 2
Fátima - Coimbra - Aveiro - Porto

After breakfast at the hotel, depart and travel towards Coimbra. Here, you'll visit the university with its magnificent baroque library and see and hear its ancient traditions and customs, such as the black cape of the students and the melancholic ‘fado’ music. In the afternoon, continue to Aveiro, a city of canals before continuing to Porto.

Porto - Guimarães - Braga – Porto

This morning, you will join a tour of the city. Discover the riverside area, old houses, palaces and churches. Then, continue to the Minho, the northwest region of Portugal that offers natural green sceneries and the sparkling “green wine”. Visit the Sacred Hill, crowned by the Castle, as well the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança. Drive to Braga before returning to Porto.

Porto- Santiago de Compostela – Porto

Breakfast at the hotel before setting off for Santiago de Compostela, the capital of Galicia and the centre of pilgrimage at the end of the Santiago Way. You will have the entire day to freely discover this fascinating city.

Day 5
Porto - Amarante - Vila Real - Vale do Douro - Lamego - Urgeiriça

This morning, depart to Amarante, a pretty town known for the promotion of love and marriage. Afterwards, you drive on to Vila Real and visit the gardens of the manor of Mateus. Then, enter in the Port wine region, travelling through the vineyards and the breathtaking landscapes of the Douro Valley. Stop in Lamego before you continue to Viseu. The last stop of the day will be in Urgeiriça for your overnight stay.

Urgeiriça - Bussaco - Tomar – Lisbon

Today, drive through the heart of Portugal to Bussaco, well known for the luxuriant forest made up of a selection of rare trees and plants of exotic beauty. Continue to Tomar where you will have a short stop before you continue on to Lisbon.

Lisbon - Sintra - Cabo Da Roca - Cascais - Estoril - Lisbon

This morning, travel towards to Sintra for a luxury day. Visit the palace of Sintra and walk through this charming village. Enjoy an amazing view from the westernmost point of Europe (Cabo da Roca). Along the coast, pass by the cosmopolitan Cascais and the gardens of Estoril Casino.

Lisbon - Évora

Today, you will discover the town of Évora. In the narrow streets of the whitewashed town of Évora, visit the Roman Temple, the Romanesque-gothic Cathedral, Saint Francis Church with the “Bones Chapel“, and the University. Also admire the diversity and authenticity of local handicraft with cork, ceramic and copper at the local markets.

Évora - Beja - Silves - Lagos

Enjoy a morning at leisure in Évora before you drive southward, passing Beja where the highest tower of Portuguese Medieval castles dominates the town and the region. Stop at Silves before continuing to Lagos.

Lagos - Ponta da Piedade - Sagres - Cabo de São Vicente

Following breakfast, travel to Ponta da Piedade before continuing to Sagres for a short stop. You then proceed along the cliffs to Cabo São Vincente then back to Lagos.

Lagos - Lisbon

Enjoy a last look at the water while traveling along the coast. The return trip to Lisbon will take you by the city of Setubal. Then, you take the scenic route over the Arrábida mountain range back to Lisbon, where your tour will conclude.
