Named as a World Design Capital in 2012, Helsinki is brimming with neoclassical and Art Noveau-influenced buildings. Enjoy a guided tour of the city, visiting the most popular landmarks including the Senate Square, Helsinki Cathedral, the Parliament and more. From Helsinki, board the northbound train Kemi traversing through snow-covered forests and lakes. Located in the Lapland region, Kemi is home to the world’s largest snow castle and the majestic Sampo icebreaker. Explore the town at your own pace or enjoy winter activities such as snowmobile or husky safari. In the afternoon, board the mighty Sampo vessel and cruise to towards the Arctic Circle until you reach Saariselkä. In Saariselkä, enjoy a husky safari through snow-blanketed forests and fells. In the evening, see the incredible Northern Lights. Then, travel to Karasjok in Norway with a stop in Inari. Stay overnight before you continue to Karasjok, a village in northern Norway and home to the Sami people. From Karasjok, continue to the gorgeous North Cape, the northernmost point of the European mainland. Then, head to the Honningsvåg where you still stay overnight. Travel to Alta, a beautiful town in the northern coast where you can see the Northern Lights or visit the historic rock carvings at Hjemmeluft. Finish your holiday with a stay in the cultural city of Tromsø.

Upon arrival to Helsinki, make your own way to your hotel and enjoy an afternoon at leisure, before meeting your tour leader and fellow travelers at the hotel, for a welcome drink.
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. Discover Helsinki, the capital of Finland on a 3-hour city tour. Your local guide will show you the most famous sights such as the Senate Square with the Helsinki Cathedral, the market square, the Orthodox Uspenski Cathedral, the Olympic Stadium and the Parliament. See the Sibelius monument, one of Helsinki’s most famous statues and dedicated to the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. Lastly, visit the unique Temppeliaukio Church, also known as the “Church in the Rock”. Afternoon and evening at leisure.
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. This morning, walk across the street to Helsinki Central Station and board your northbound train towards Kemi. Journey through magical landscapes with endless snow-covered forests and lakes covered with ice. Arrive to Kemi late afternoon and transfer to your hotel in Kemi. Enjoy dinner at the hotel and spend the night in a glass villa with a view of the starry northern sky.
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. Morning at leisure in Kemi, with the opportunity to take and optional snowmobile safari, husky safari or one of the many other exciting excursions offered. In the afternoon, transfer to the port of Kemi and board the majestic Arctic Icebreaker Sampo vessel that will take you on a truly unique cruise, crushing through the thick ice on the Gulf of Bothnia. Travelling further north through Finnish Lapland and towards the Arctic Circle, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant in Rovaniemi before continuing to Saariselkä and the Northern Lights Village.
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. Morning departure by private coach, via Inari, where a stop and entrance to the Siida Sami Museum is included. Continue north west and later crossing the border to Norway, and shortly afterwards arriving to Karasjok, the Sami capital, with strong ties to the Sami culture, a home of the Sami Parliament, “Samediggi”. Overnight and dinner in Karasjok.
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. Early morning departure and the journey continues North, bound for the North Cape. Travelling through the North Cape tunnel, you reach the Magerøya Island on which the North Cape is situated. The North Cape cliff itself will be visited today (subject to weather conditions).
Arrive to Honningsvåg and enjoy dinner before your overnight in the northernmost city in Norway.
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. Today head south, and travel back along the Porsanger fjord, bound for Alta, “The Northern Lights city of Norway”. In the afternoon, visit the Alta Museum to see the expositions about the local history of Northern Lights. The remainder of the afternoon evening is free. Why not try your luck and join in on a local Northern Lights safari in and around Alta? In Alta, you have the chance to upgrade and experience and overnight stay in the Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel (supplement applies).
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. Today, drive along the arctic fjords bound for Tromsø, former starting point of many North Pole expeditions. Free time before evening Northern Lights safari, where a light dinner will be included.
