Madrid

The region of Madrid is one of the regions in Spain that receives the highest number of foreign students learning the Spanish language. Madrid is a melting pot of different nationalities, and is home to the most important Spanish Language institution, the Instituto Cervantes (Cervantes Institute), the National Library and the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language. Valladolid

Valladolid is a city with centuries of history with a vibrant contemporary culture and nightlife scene comparable to Salamanca. One of the most ideal places in Spain to learn Spanish, this is accessible by the AVE high speed train from Madrid for only fifty minutes to one hour. Salamanca

Salamanca is approximately 200 kilometers away from Madrid and around 80 kilometers east from the border with Portugal. The University of Salamanca founded in 1218 is the third oldest western university in the world, and one of the oldest universities in Spain. Salamanca is also part of the Silver Route (la Ruta de la Plata), and the Road to Santiago de Compostela (Camino de Santiago).
