TOILETRY

A few years ago, I received as a gift a pot of Kiehl's Facial Fuel Heavy Lifting, which is an anti-wrinkle moisturizer specifically designed for men's skin. It's something I would never have bought for myself because typically I don’t buy anything outside of toothpaste and lip balm, plus it’s also ridiculously expensive. It turned out to be a great present because after a long flight in a dehydrating aircraft cabin this ‘facial fuel’ can, as the label says, revitalise the skin and make you look a little healthier, or at least a little less washed out.

TECH

For me Spotify is just about best thing ever created for travelling. Whether I'm on a flight or stuck in an airport or hotel, I can just turn on my phone, put in the headphones and listen to my favourite music. So, my essential piece of tech is my portable mobile power pack, which ensures my phone is always charged. Since you ask, some of my favourites are Green Day, The Killers, Guns and Roses and Metallica.

CLOTHING

I always carry lightweight Kathmandu jacket. It's not too bulky or heavy, but always keeps you warm.

PERSONAL

I have a pair of Asics runners that I only take on overseas trips, for use exclusively in hotel gyms. I never use them at home, which means they stay clean, and I can pack them knowing they're not going to smell and stink out my suitcase.

+ What he used to pack and now leaves behind.

I used to take a Canon SLR, but of course now I just use iPhone 13, which features an outrageously good camera
