Day 1 Seville Córdoba

Guests will be welcomed in Seville at 10:00 a.m. After meeting, explore the city, home to Spain’s largest historic center. Following lunch, enjoy a panoramic tour before boarding the Al Ándalus train. On board, you'll be greeted with a welcome toast, meet the crew, and settle into your suite. Dinner is served as the train travels to Córdoba, where you will spend the night onboard.

Day 2 Córdoba Cadiz Jerez

After breakfast on board, visit the stunning Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba and continue exploring the city, once the capital of the Caliphate of Al Ándalus and the most advanced city in medieval Europe. Lunch is served on board as you travel to Jerez. In the afternoon, visit Cádiz, known as the "Tacita de Plata" and considered the oldest city in the West. Dinner in Cádiz and overnight stay in Jerez.

Day 3 Jerez Zafra

Enjoy breakfast before a visit to Jerez, including the renowned equestrian show How the Andalusian Horses Dance, a ballet of Spanish music and horsemanship. After lunch at a local restaurant, tour a regional wine cellar. Dinner is served on board as the train continues to Zafra, where you will spend the night onboard.

Day 4 Zafra Cáceres Mérida

During breakfast, the train arrives in Cáceres, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its beautifully preserved medieval architecture. Explore its ancient streets and cultural landmarks. Lunch is served on board as the train travels to Mérida, another World Heritage city founded in 25 BC. Here, you'll explore its impressive Roman ruins before dinner and an overnight stay in Mérida.

Day 5 Mérida Alcázar de San Juan

Enjoy breakfast as you travel to Alcázar de San Juan in Castilla-La Mancha, a region famous for its wines and cheeses. Here, visit an artisanal cheese factory and a traditional wine cellar, followed by lunch. In the afternoon, visit Campo de Criptana, home to the iconic windmills that inspired Cervantes’ Don Quixote. Return to Alcázar de San Juan for dinner on board and overnight stay.

Day 6 Alcázar de San Juan Toledo Aranjuez

During breakfast, arrive in Aranjuez and travel by coach to Toledo, a UNESCO World Heritage city and former imperial capital. Discover its diverse cultural legacy reflected in Christian, Muslim, and Jewish monuments, including a Gothic cathedral, a 10th-century mosque, and two synagogues. After lunch, return to Aranjuez to tour the Royal Palace and its beautiful gardens. Dinner on board and overnight in Aranjuez.

Day 7 Aranjuez Madrid

After a final breakfast on board, bid farewell to the train and its crew. The journey concludes in Madrid around 1:30 p.m.

Tren Al Ándalus

The Al Ándalus Train offers two types of accommodation:

The Grand-Class Room: A cosy room with a private bathroom. It features two single beds that become comfortable armchairs during the day, as well as a minibar, safe, wardrobe, luggage closet, and adjustable air-conditioning. Its functional private bathroom makes good use of space, featuring a shower, hairdryer, and a varied set of welcome items and toiletries. There are 12 Grand-Class Rooms.

What is the dress code onboard the train?

The atmosphere on board is one of relaxed nature. During the day dress for relaxed comfort for onboard the train and when embarking on excursions. We suggest wearing durable shoes for excursions, and please be prepared for change of weather. In the evening, guests have the option to choose a more formal outfit.

Which drinks are available aboard the train?

Complimentary wine, beer, soft drinks, tea, and coffee are provided during mealtimes. Outside of mealtimes, the lounge cars offer guests various options to purchase soft drinks, juices, tea, coffee, and water. Additionally, a thoughtfully curated menu of alcoholic beverages is available for purchase, encompassing wines, beers, and spirits, ensuring passengers can enjoy a delightful and refreshing experience while traveling onboard.

Is there Wi-Fi onboard the train?

The Al Ándalus Train offers Wi-Fi access in its lounges, along with a computer available for passengers to use for browsing the Internet, checking emails, and more. (Please note that the connection is subject to operator coverage.)

Can special dietary preferences be requested?

Provided a detailed request has been made at time of booking – special dietary requirements, such as vegetarian and adhering to religious requirements, may be arranged.

Will I need to tip the train staff?

Gratuities for staff and guides are at the passenger’s discretion.

Is there air conditioning on board?

Onboard air-conditioning is provided, with individual control available for cabin air conditioning.

What is the luggage allowance for travelling guests onboard the train?

For ease while on board the train, it is recommended to utilise a travel bag or soft suitcase. Nevertheless, two large suitcases per room can be accommodated in the Suites, with staff onboard to help with loading the luggage.

Is it possible for individuals with mobility limitations to participate in the journey?

While the train has been renovated and features state-of-the-art technologies, it remains a historic and vintage train, lacking interior adaptations for wheelchair or walking frame access. Consequently, these trains are not considered accessible. However, individuals with reduced mobility who rely solely on wheelchair support outside the train can embark on the journey, provided they are accompanied by a companion to help.

Is smoking permitted onboard?

In Spain, smoking is not allowed in enclosed public spaces, including public transport or collective transport vehicles. Consequently, in compliance with existing regulations, travellers are prohibited from smoking while on board. It's important to note that train journeys typically do not exceed 3-4 hours.

Will I need travel insurance?

As with all holidays and trips abroad, we strongly recommend that you have travel insurance. Please consult with our agents at time of booking and we can assist you with this.
