Day 2
Strasbourg → Obernai → Strasbourg

After breakfast, meet your English speaking driver-guide at Strasbourg Tourism Office on Cathedral Square and start your small group tour to sample the Flavours of Strasbourg.

Discover the city of Strasbourg in a fun & informative way as you taste some of the best gastronomic produce of Alsace. Cuisine and gourmet food are passions for most French people and the region has many specialties combining its unique French and Germanic cultural heritage - a very special flavour!

From lovely fresh white asparagus, local Foie-Gras, juniper flavoured sauerkraut, pies made from local berries, mountain hams, colourful Quetsche plums, breads of all shapes, to delicious cakes and pastries, our local produce are known all over France.

Follow your guide as you are introduced to some of the local food as well as traditional Arts & Crafts. Along the way, you will sample local food such as cured meat & cheese paired with local wines.

Other stops will include tasting some traditional breads and Pretzels as well as Pain d’épices – our very own Gingerbread. This gourmet tour would not be complete without several tastings of delicious wines that might even include Crémant d’Alsace, a delicious local sparkling wine! The tour will also take you through stunning districts such as the Petite France.

In the afternoon, start your wonderful Snapshot of Alsace Wines.

Depart for a half day trip along the Alsace Wine Route to discover some of the most fascinating wines in France. Renowned for its aromatic white wines, the region is ideally suited with a dry and sunny climate, complex geology, favourable soils and excellent exposure. During this half day tour, you will wine taste in 2 wineries so as to find out all there is to know about the 7 different types of Alsatian wines.

First, travel to the lovely town of Obernai located on the Wine Route. Here you will most certainly appreciate the town's little winding streets, old houses with multicoloured tiles, ensigns, ramparts and the statue of St Odile, patron saint of Alsace. After a guided walking tour of the town, enjoy your first wine tasting session in one of our selected wineries. Your tour will then continue along the breathtaking Alsace wine route to admire the stunning landscape. On your way, enjoy a second wine tasting session in a typical Alsace ‘caveau’.

Day 3
Strasbourg → Colmar, Eguisheim & Riquewihr → Strasbourg

After breakfast, meet your English speaking driver-guide at Strasbourg Tourism Office on Cathedral Square and start your small group tour to beautiful towns, villages and amazing landscapes.

Begin your full day tour with the beautiful town of Colmar. Discover the charm of the old town, its prestigious monuments, the Pfister house, the Koïfhus, Saint Martin Collegiate Church, and the picturesque neighbourhoods of small Venice or of the tanners.

Then travel to the beautiful village of Eguisheim. Surrounded by vineyards, the narrow and concentric streets highlight the architectural merits of its half-timbered houses, lovingly decorated with flowers.

After a walk in the village, your tour then continues on to the beautiful town of Riquewihr. Surrounded by ramparts, the village has been very fortunate to survive war and destruction. Its tiny streets, fortified walls and old houses have preserved their 16th Century splendor virtually intact, making for remarkable architectural harmony.

Free time for personal discovery and lunch (own expenses).

After lunch, enjoy the spectacular Alsace Wine Route. Located between the Rhine Valley and the Vosges mountain range, the 60-year-old route winds across the slopes for more than 170kms. The itinerary leads across rows of undulating, vine covered hills, and through quaint villages with narrow streets and charming flower decked houses clustered around the local church steeple. On this part of your day trip from Strasbourg, your guide will stop in several areas for great photo opportunities.

Finally, reach the mighty Haut Koenigsbourg Castle. Here, follow your guide for a tour of this mighty fortress that overlooks the valley. Built in the 12th century, the Castle occupied a strategic position controlling the wine and wheat routes to the north and the salt route that came from the East. The castle is probably the most imposing of all the Alsace region. After the visit, return to Strasbourg.

Tonight, enjoy a fabulous regional dinner in one of the most traditional restaurants of Strasbourg – known as a Winstub: The Winstub, literally “wine lounge”, recreates the Alsatian way of life. Originally, it was a room open to the public where wine growers could sell off the surplus of their production. Nowadays, the Winstub is a typical Alsatian restaurant, where the wine is served in a carafe accompanied by traditional dishes such as Choucroute (or Sauerkraut), Baeckaoffa - a hotpot of potatoes garnished with a selection of meats marinated in white wine, cooked in a terrine dish – and many more.

Can you book my international airfares?

On some Islands Holiday Packages (e.g. Fiji), it is practical to include flights, so where we have done this it is indicated by the plane icon.

However, on the majority of our Holiday Packages, we do not include international flights.

We found that many customers may prefer to:

  • Travel on a specific airline of their choice
  • Have the flexibility to book flights with Frequent Flyer points
  • Select flight dates that may be different to our Holiday Package start/end dates
  • Use a Travel Credit already held with the airline
  • Use their travel agent for this service

We are able to assist with flights on any Holiday Package, so please just notify us during the Book Now process or contact our team.

Why do some packages not offer the ability to Book Now on the website?

If a package on our website does not include our Peace of Mind Booking Plan, it will not be available to Book Now.

Due to the boutique nature and limited capacity of some travel experiences offered, they have strict payment and cancellation policies. (e.g., a remote bear lodge in Canada with only a few cabins).

Although technically possible, we have decided that it is impractical for us to try and sell these type of travel services on-line. We believe it is important that such product is discussed, so that we can ensure these strict payment and cancellation policies are understood before we proceed with a booking.

For such product we may act as an agent only for the principal suppliers. Where we act as agent, your contract for the delivery of travel arrangements will be with the principal supplier and will be subject to their Booking Conditions.

We will advise you prior to confirming your booking if we are acting as agent and we will confirm the details of the principal supplier. Our responsibility to you where we sell travel arrangements as agent for the supplier is specified in the ‘Responsibility’ section of our Booking Conditions.

Should I take travel insurance?

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. During the Book Now process please confirm you require assistance, and our team will be in contact with you.

What should I do before travelling?

Before you travel it is your responsibility to ensure you have the appropriate documentation including visas. If you are travelling on a passport other than Australian or New Zealand, you will require a permit to re-enter Australia. It is your responsibility as the traveller and/or travel booker to meet all government entry requirements.

For more information please visit - Before you travel | Entire Travel Group

How does a Travel Agent make a booking?

Please visit the Entire Travel Group's Agent Portal. We are here to support our industry partners with a range of informative updates, marketing collateral for campaigns and a reward & recognition program.

How do I start a Booking?

  • On any page that has Book Now simply follow the booking process.
  • You must select the Travel Agent tick box and provide correct details.
  • To confirm a booking only the refundable deposit is required.
  • An agency credit card must be used for this initial payment.
