Sail Onboard Royal Clipper

Royal Clipper, the world’s largest full-rigged sailing ship, offers an intimate and luxurious experience for up to 227 guests, looked after by a crew of 106. Inspired by classic tall ships, it blends the romance of traditional sailing with modern comforts. Choose from 112 staterooms, including elegant suites with marble bathrooms, whirlpool tubs and private verandahs. Each cabin is thoughtfully appointed with a TV, minibar and safe, ensuring a relaxing stay at sea.

On board, the atmosphere is casual yet refined, with open-seating dining in a stunning three-deck atrium and menus featuring gourmet cuisine. The ship boasts three swimming pools, a marina platform for water sports, and the unique Captain Nemo Lounge, a spa and fitness centre with underwater viewing windows.

Guests can climb the mast for panoramic views, lounge on the bowsprit netting or simply enjoy the serenity of sailing under 42 billowing sails.

After breakfast, enjoy a regular tour of Porto to discover the highlights.

When reaching the D. Luis bridge from the south and you start to catch a glimpse of Porto, in the words of a Portuguese author, you see “a cascade built on a mountainside surrounded by fog”. It is the most beautiful cascade you’ll ever see, and so much more. Come and discover Porto, the country’s northern capital and one of the oldest cities in Europe. Enjoy a unique and unforgettable tour through the Sé quarter, the heart of old Porto, with medieval roots. This memorable trip ends at the famous Porto wine cellars, in the center of Vila Nova de Gaia, with an ambience which will take you on a journey to the past.

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and pick up your car rental at Porto city office.

Enjoy an 1 hour and half drive towards your hotel in Douro Valley while taking in the breathtaking view of the Douro River and the Tedo River.

Navigate from Atlantic Lisbon through the Algarve and across to North Africa, as Royal Clipper sails an enchanting Western Mediterranean route. Can you book my international airfares?

On some Islands Holiday Packages (e.g. Fiji), it is practical to include flights, so where we have done this it is indicated by the plane icon.

However, on the majority of our Holiday Packages, we do not include international flights.

We found that many customers may prefer to:

Travel on a specific airline of their choice
Have the flexibility to book flights with Frequent Flyer points
Select flight dates that may be different to our Holiday Package start/end dates
Use a Travel Credit already held with the airline
Use their travel agent for this service

We are able to assist with flights on any Holiday Package, so please just notify us during the Book Now process or contact our team.

Should I take travel insurance?

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. During the Book Now process please confirm you require assistance, and our team will be in contact with you.

What should I do before travelling?

Before you travel it is your responsibility to ensure you have the appropriate documentation including visas. If you are travelling on a passport other than Australian or New Zealand, you will require a permit to re-enter Australia. It is your responsibility as the traveller and/or travel booker to meet all government entry requirements.
