Crazy Rich Asian Inspired Tour & Gardens by the Bay

Crazy Rich Asian Inspired Tour & Gardens by the Bay

Duration: 4 hours (1700-2100hrs)
Get your “Crazy Rich Asians” experience right here in Singapore! This tour will bring you to some of the movie’s locations. Visit the CHIJMES where the wedding ceremony was held. Next, head over to Newton Food center located next to the Central Business District with charming Victorian wrought iron structure, that is usually dismissed this way by Singaporeans Newton is the actual location for the street food fest in the film that’s had critics salivating.

To end off the night, visit Gardens by the Bay that spans over 100 hectares and is a highlight for any visitor to Singapore. The gardens houses two domes or conservatories, Cloud Forest and Flower Dome, which are climate controlled indoor glasshouses. The Flower Dome (the larger of the two) replicates the cool dry climate of the Mediterranean and South Africa, whilst the Cloud Forest replicates a cool moist climate found in Tropical Montane regions such as Mount Kinabalu in Sabah and high elevation areas in South America.

Satay Under the Stars

Satay Under the Stars

Dinner: 2 hours (1900-2100hrs)
Originally built as a wet market in the 19th century, Lau Pa Sat has been converted into a hawker centre where both local and Asian foods are sold. At night, a satay street is rapidly set up at the outdoor area of the food market, adding more bustle to the place. It only wakes up after dark, from 19:00 onwards, and lives energetically until the leave of the last diners. Its satay stalls provide diners with skewers of chicken, lamb, beef, and pork from Chinese to Muslim style.

As the city lights up, the bustling atmosphere is started with swift setups of folding tables, plastic chairs, and the starting of charcoal fires. The barbecue smoke carrying the irresistible aroma of the satay reveals the readiness of Singapore style barbeque party. Enthusiastic crowds will quickly fill up the place to make this nightspot one of Singapore’s most exciting street dining places to savour the best satay with cold beer.

Chinatown Dinner & Walking tour

Chinatown Dinner & Walking tour

Duration: 3 hours (1700-2000hrs)
Chinatown is where Hindu temples and mosques sit right next to Chinese temples. However, Singapore’s street food version comes in the form of hawker food, where hawkers serve delicious local treats and specialties in a cleaner and more comfortable environment. One of the most famous food street markets is the Maxwell Food Centre.

Savour some of the sweet treats like Weng Pancake which is a type of peanut pancake filled with traditional crushed peanut filling. Another popular Malay dessert that you should not miss is the Ondeh Ondeh which is a steamed moist tapioca cake with a light and sweet coconut taste, covered with freshly grated coconut shavings. Do not forget Tian Tian Chicken Rice Stall which is known as one of the best chicken rice in Singapore. The fragrance of the rice is the winning formula.

You may take a walk down Chinatown to taste some local street snacks as well. For shopping, you will find a huge selection of souvenirs in Pagoda Street, 'bak kwa' (barbecued meat) in New Bridge Road or traditional Chinese medicine in South Bridge Road.

Day 3
Singapore → Little India → Singapore

Today, the Cultural Kaleidoscope is on the agenda (4 1/2 hours).

Singapore was part of British Malaya for many centuries. It was ruled by the Sultanate of Johor before the British came to the Island and set up a port and colony in 1819. After World War II, Singapore became an independent nation and republic, where she remains till today. Today, Singapore has a diverse populace of just over 5 million people or more which is made up of Chinese, Malays, Indians, Caucasians and Eurasians (plus other mixed groups) and Asians of different origins, which is in line with the nation’s history as a crossroads for various ethnic and racial groups.

Experience up close the various cultures come alive before your very eyes as you explore the nooks and crannies of each ethnic heritage enclave by turns. Travel to Little India where you will see bustling streets showcasing aromatic and exotic spices, colourful flower-garland shops, vegetable vendors, busy curry houses and even henna painting! Moving on to Tekka Centre, it is a multi-use building comprising a wet market, food centre and shops in Little India. Today, Tekka Centre remains a landmark in Little India, where different ethnic communities congregate. You will get to watch up-close roti prata flipping in one of the shops. Roti Prata is one of the local favourite all day meal; a fried flatbread that is cooked over a flat grill. It is usually served with a vegetable or meat-based curry and it is originated from Singapore. At Kampong Gelam, admire the quiet majesty of the Sultan’s Mosque with its unmistakable golden dome, explore colourful food eateries, and browse through old-fashioned shops selling batiks, carpets, rattan basket-ware and exotic perfumes.

Take the opportunity to try ‘Teh Halia’ in one of the shops. Teh halia is Malay for ginger tea. This slightly spicy and sweet drink is served in traditional coffee shops in Singapore and Malaysia. The coffee shop version of the ginger milk tea is especially sweet as they use sweetened condensed milk. Tell us what do you think of drink as our guide will share you the benefit of drinking teh halia. Enjoy a scrumptious lunch at The Coconut Club. The Coconut Club was born out of the desire to bring people together over the most satisfying Nasi Lemak possible. It has become an iconic place to gather over plates of delicious fried chicken, grilled fish and a variety of sharing plates such as our Homemade Otah, Terung Assam Manis and Iga Bakar.

The remainder of the day is at leisure.

  • Peranakan Heritage Vespa Ride:

The Joo Chiat / Katong area is not only a treasure trove for delectable local food but is also known for its decorative and ornate shophouses and residential terraces, which lends a special charm. In the 1920s and 1930s, many communities move eastward out of the city centre to make this area their home. Bungalows, shophouses and places of worship were being built, a reflection of the multi-cultural and varied community of Peranakan, Eurasian, Malay, Chinese and Indian cultures.

Dubbed as “Little Singapore”, Joo Chiat / Katong is Singapore’s largest architecture conservation district. Hop on with us as we explore the neighborhood; in search of colorful shophouses, trades & craft of Chinese diaspora of Singapore and historical landmarks – once filled with coconut plantations and used as a weekend retreat by wealthy city dwellers.

Why do some packages not offer the ability to Book Now on the website?

If a package on our website does not include our Peace of Mind Booking Plan, it will not be available to Book Now.

Due to the boutique nature and limited capacity of some travel experiences offered, they have strict payment and cancellation policies. (e.g., a remote bear lodge in Canada with only a few cabins).

Although technically possible, we have decided that it is impractical for us to try and sell these type of travel services on-line. We believe it is important that such product is discussed, so that we can ensure these strict payment and cancellation policies are understood before we proceed with a booking.

For such product we may act as an agent only for the principal suppliers. Where we act as agent, your contract for the delivery of travel arrangements will be with the principal supplier and will be subject to their Booking Conditions.

We will advise you prior to confirming your booking if we are acting as agent and we will confirm the details of the principal supplier. Our responsibility to you where we sell travel arrangements as agent for the supplier is specified in the ‘Responsibility’ section of our Booking Conditions.

Can you book my international airfares?

Following customer feedback, we do not include international flights in our holiday packages.

We found that many customers may prefer:

  • To travel on specific airlines
  • Have the flexibility to book flights with Frequent Flyer points
  • Select flight dates that may be different to the package start/end dates
  • Use their travel agent for this service

However, we are able to assist, so please just notify us during the Book Now process or contact our team.

Should I take travel insurance?

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. During the Book Now process please confirm you require assistance, and our team will be in contact with you.

What should I do before travelling?

Before you travel it is your responsibility to ensure you have the appropriate documentation including visas. If you are travelling on a passport other than Australian or New Zealand, you will require a permit to re-enter Australia. It is your responsibility as the traveller and/or travel booker to meet all government entry requirements.

For more information please visit - Before you travel | Entire Travel Group
