Your island explorer adventure starts in Rarotonga, staying at the Moana Sands Beachfront Hotel for 5 nights. Located in Titikaveka Village which is on the South coast of Rarotonga, the hotel sits peacefully on an unspolit stretch of white sandy beach with stunning views of the lagoon and ocean beyond.

Continue onto explore Aitutaki staying at the Aitutaki Village for 3 nights. Located on Ootu Beach, the Aitutaki Village overlooks lush gardens and coconut palms. Enjoy a beautiful romantic swim in the warm turquoise waters; with stand up paddle boards and kayaking facilities available, find yourself drifting away. Lay back, soak up the island sun on the beach lounges and let yourself relax and enjoy the island essence.

You will then fly to Atiu for a 3 night stay at Atiu Villas. Atiu Island is one of the three "must visit" islands in the Cook Islands. The Atiu Villas are located in a quiet and relaxing environment surrounded by an extensive tropical garden, pineapple fields and a view down a jungle clad valley to the ocean. It is only a short walk to the white sandy beaches of the southern coastline.

Anatakitaki Cave Tour - See the unique Kopeka Bird
The Anatakitaki Caves are regarded by environmentalists as a national treause. A walk through the dense tropical jungle covering the Makatea coastline leads to Anatakitaki Cave - a must-see when in Atiu. There you will also enjoy a breathtaking view of the stalagmites, stalactites and a high natural cathedral ceiling above. The cave also provide a home to one of the rare native birds, the Kopeka. This tiny bird nests deep in the limestone caverns and just like a bat navigates its way through the dark using sonar.
Tumunu Tour
Atiu Tumunu Tour is a two-century old tradition where the local men gather at their village clubs to enjoy several rounds of a fruit based alcoholic local brew and discuss their day. At the Tumunu everyone is seated in a circle surrounding the barman. The barman then serves the brew clockwise out of a small coconut shell - smaller than the volume of a wine glass. The Tumunu Tour is a great way to meet the locals and sample the local beverage and local music. Learn about the history of this tradition.
Island Discovery Tour of Atiu
The Island Discovery Tour is a 3.5 hour guided tour that takes you on a journey to discover the remarkable history and unsurpassed beauty of this little peaceful paradise. Your tour begins with a drive through the main village and town area of Areora. You are shown the small business district, government buildings, local churches and schools, as well as the Ngamaru Ariki (Chiefs) palace and special landmarks. Each stop has a fascinating history which your tour guides will share with you along the way.

Atiu Villas are unique in that the chalet style villas are made almost entirely of local native timbers and materials and feature the polished woods of mango, coconut and many other tropical trees.

Can you book my international airfares?

On some Islands Holiday Packages (e.g. Fiji), it is practical to include flights, so where we have done this it is indicated by the plane icon.

However, on the majority of our Holiday Packages, we do not include international flights.

We found that many customers may prefer to:

Travel on a specific airline of their choice
Have the flexibility to book flights with Frequent Flyer points
Select flight dates that may be different to our Holiday Package start/end dates
Use a Travel Credit already held with the airline
Use their travel agent for this service

We are able to assist with flights on any Holiday Package, so please just notify us during the Book Now process or contact our team.

Should I take travel insurance?

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. During the Book Now process please confirm you require assistance, and our team will be in contact with you.

What should I do before travelling?

Before you travel it is your responsibility to ensure you have the appropriate documentation including visas. If you are travelling on a passport other than Australian or New Zealand, you will require a permit to re-enter Australia. It is your responsibility as the traveller and/or travel booker to meet all government entry requirements.
