Should your flight arrive early in the morning, you will be escorted to a comfortable hotel where your room is prepared for check-in. Delight in a delicious breakfast!

Following a relaxing morning, your afternoon rendezvous awaits with tour guides and fellow travelers. The journey commences with a remarkable visit to Medeo, home to the world's highest ice-skating rink. Embark on a cable car ascent to a ski resort at 2,200 meters, culminating in the awe-inspiring Talgar peak at 3,200 meters. Revel in the crisp mountain air and breathtaking vistas before concluding the day with a delightful welcome dinner.

Day 3 Almaty - journey on the train begins

Day 4 Issyk Kul Lake (Kyrgyzstan)

This morning, you will arrive at the stunning Issyk Kul Lake. A visit to the Center of Nomadic Culture will provide you with a deeper understanding of the region before allowing time for a leisurely walk or a refreshing swim in the waters of Issyk Kul. Following a boat excursion on the lake, the train sets its course toward Bishkek.

Day 5 Bishkek

Following breakfast on board, you will arrive in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek. Embark on a comprehensive tour to explore its numerous attractions. Renowned for its lush greenery, Bishkek boasts approximately 100m² of green space per inhabitant, making it one of the greenest cities globally. The itinerary includes a visit to Ala-Archa National Park.

Day 7 Samarkand

Today, immerse yourself in the wonders of Samarkand, a city historically celebrated as the most beautiful and significant under Timur's rule. Explore the burial town of Shah-i-Zinda, also known as "The Living King," along with the excavation sites of Afrasiyab, featuring a guided museum tour.

Registan Square stands out as the most impressive architectural ensemble in Central Asia, surrounded by three grand madrasas. The enormous and splendid portals, adorned with captivating decoration and vibrant colors, create a mesmerizing scene. Against the backdrop, mosque domes shimmer like those in a Middle Eastern fairy tale.

Your next two nights in Samarkand will be spent in a hotel, allowing you to further absorb the city's rich heritage.

Today's itinerary includes a visit to a silk carpet manufactory and an Uzbek artisan family specializing in crafting paper from mulberry tree bark. You will explore the Ulugh Beg Observatory and witness the ruins of the Bibi-Khanym Mosque. Delve into the palace-like Gur-i-Amir mausoleum complex, where you can explore the interior and view the tomb of Timur. Known as both a renowned builder who transformed his capital into a paradise and a feared conqueror, Timur's legacy is encapsulated within this historic site.

Can you book my international airfares?

On some Islands Holiday Packages (e.g. Fiji), it is practical to include flights, so where we have done this it is indicated by the plane icon.

However, on the majority of our Holiday Packages, we do not include international flights.

We found that many customers may prefer to:

  • Travel on a specific airline of their choice
  • Have the flexibility to book flights with Frequent Flyer points
  • Select flight dates that may be different to our Holiday Package start/end dates
  • Use a Travel Credit already held with the airline
  • Use their travel agent for this service

We are able to assist with flights on any Holiday Package, so please just notify us during the Book Now process or contact our team.

Should I take travel insurance?

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. During the Book Now process please confirm you require assistance, and our team will be in contact with you.

What should I do before travelling?

Before you travel it is your responsibility to ensure you have the appropriate documentation including visas. If you are travelling on a passport other than Australian or New Zealand, you will require a permit to re-enter Australia.
