Drift past lavender fields and weeping willows as you sip chilled Côtes de Provence rosé and savour truffles from Grignan. From the vineyard-draped hills of Tain L’Hermitage to the historic heart of Avignon, every moment is steeped in beauty and indulgence. Napoléon features six elegant cabins with ensuite bathrooms, ideal for families or groups, and offers serene spaces to unwind—from the stately lounge to the outdoor jacuzzi under Provençal skies.

Indulge in a truffle tasting or bike the trails through Provence’s lavender-splashed fields. Step off the boat to hand-pick market’s delicacies along the route.Take part in an exciting truffle excursion in Grignan or play sous-chef back on board — your maestro will be prepping the nightly feast with signature dishes and local delicacies. Day 1 & 2 La Voulte sur Rhone Viviers

Board Napoléon for your cruise along the Rhône. Toast the start of your adventure with chilled champagne with your dedicated crew and guide. After settling into your cabin, enjoy a cocktail cruise with an aperitif on board as an introduction to Rhône Valley's regional wines. Later, savour your first gastronomic experience on the water with dinner onboard.

On day two, relax on deck this morning and drink in the vivid countryside. After lunch on board, disembark with your guide for a walking tour of Viviers, a tiny medieval village brimming with historic charm. Back at the barge, why not test your throwing skills in a traditional Provençal game of pétanque? Your efforts will be rewarded with refreshing cocktails and a curated selection of Southern France's delicacies.

Day 3 & 4 Roquemaure

On your third day you may like to visit the delightful village of Grignan, famous for its wild roses and imposing medieval château. Accompanied by your guide, visit a truffle farm and indulge in a precious tasting. Enjoy a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant before rejoining the barge for a continued journey towards the south. Tonight, enjoy a scenic dinner on board in the rural mooring of Roquemaure.

On day four, glide past the magnificent Pont du Gard. You might like to take a swim in the tranquil waters beneath this remarkable piece of Roman architecture. Lunch is served on the barge as you gently cruise to Avignon. This afternoon's excursion is to Châteauneuf du Pape, the summer home of the Avignon Popes famous for its stunning wines. Enjoy a tour and a delicious tasting before a delightful dining experience on shore.

Day 5 & 6 Vallabrègues Avignon

Today, a walking tour introduces you to the walled city of Avignon. Visit the magnificent Palais des Papes, and enjoy free time to shop, sample Avignon’s café society, or watch the world go by in the gorgeous square. Return to Napoléon for lunch and a cruise further south to Vallabrègues. From here, your guide leads you to Les Baux-de-Provence. Linger over views of beautiful olive groves and the rugged Alpilles mountains before returning to the barge for dinner.

On day six - After breakfast, join your guide for a fascinating tour of Arles. This picturesque scene famously inspired artist Vincent Van Gogh to paint hundreds of works here from 1888-9. Return to the barge for lunch as you cruise back towards Avignon. Later in the afternoon, take a stroll through the lovely town of Saint-Rémy, the birthplace of Nostradamus. Relish the enchanting ambience as you exchange stories of your extraordinary trip over your final epicurean feast.

Day 7 Disembark

Can you book my international airfares?

On some Islands Holiday Packages (e.g. Fiji), it is practical to include flights, so where we have done this it is indicated by the plane icon.

However, on the majority of our Holiday Packages, we do not include international flights.

We found that many customers may prefer to:

  • Travel on a specific airline of their choice
  • Have the flexibility to book flights with Frequent Flyer points
  • Select flight dates that may be different to our Holiday Package start/end dates
  • Use a Travel Credit already held with the airline
  • Use their travel agent for this service

We are able to assist with flights on any Holiday Package, so please just notify us during the Book Now process or contact our team.

Should I take travel insurance?

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. During the Book Now process please confirm you require assistance, and our team will be in contact with you.

What should I do before travelling?

Before you travel it is your responsibility to ensure you have the appropriate documentation including visas. If you are travelling on a passport other than Australian or New Zealand, you will require a permit to re-enter Australia. It is your responsibility as the traveller and/or travel booker to meet all government entry requirements.
