Arrival in Sri Lanka / Meet & Greet at the airport where you will meet your private guide. 

You will then proceed to Negombo in your private car (approximately 30 minutes travel time) and check into your hotel. Spend the remainder of the day at your own leisure.

You will then travel for approximately 4 hours to visit Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s longest lasting capital. Its here you will enjoy an Anuradhapura Ancient city tour

Anuradhapurais one of the greatest monastic cities of the ancient world flourishing with Buddhist culture and crowning architectural achievements. Being the heart of Sri Lankan civilization for over a millennium, Anuradhapura was the royal capital of 113 successive kings who administered the producing of magnificent Palaces, elaborate sculptures, opulent gardens and enormous stupas built to protect the most sacred relics of Buddhism. The three main stupas Ruwanweliseya, Jetavanaramaya and Abhayagiri stupas are amongst the biggest architectural creations of the ancient world, surpassed in size only by the pyramids of Giza.

You will then continue to Habarana to check into your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your own pleasure.

Today, you will visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and also known as Lion Rock, built on top of a huge boulder in the 5th century consists of 1,200 steps. The first part of the visit is a leisurely walk through the pleasure gardens,  before you start the climb. There are two areas where you can take a break on the way up. This tour takes approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on the speed at which you want to climb. Water is provided. If it looks like it might rain don’t forget to take an umbrella from the vehicle.

Then enjoy a tour of a rural village in Sigiriya (Hiriwadunna Village) which gives you a glimpse of a uniquely interlinked Sri Lankan village life where the villagers go about their daily lives with the greatest respect to nature. Spend a morning in the remote village of Hiruwadunna – an area the locals call ‘God’s village’ and said to be a refuge of King Wasaba followed by a local cooking demo.

Return to the resort and spend the evening at leisure.

Today, you will travel to Kandy, which is located in the central highlands and is home to the Temple of the Tooth (approximately 2.5 hours travel time). Enjoy a tour of the famous Tooth Relic Temple which is surrounded by beautiful hills and countryside with refreshing lush greenery, the town center has a picturesque lake setting, with delightful stalls and a buzzing street market.

Enjoy a Cultural Performance in the evening with more than 7 different dance performances, captivating drumming and the skills of the traditional musicians on display, this show will give you a great insight to traditional Sri Lankan culture.

Nuwara Eliya – which means the City of Light, enjoys spring like weather throughout the year. Surrounded by hills and tea plantations, it is a quaint town with English country style houses, half-timbered bungalows and large rose gardens keeps the atmosphere of a misplaced British village. Enjoy a tea experience at a tea factory.

Today you will travel for approximately 5 hours to Yala and visit one of most desired safari destinations, Yala National Park.

Yala National Park is famous for having the highest concentration of leopards in the world! In its essence, the park consists of shrub jungle with rock outcrops along with several fresh water and salt water lagoons. Some of the most prominent sightings in Yala are of leopards, elephants, sloth bears, sambar, spotted deer, jackals, wild boar and buffaloes, langur and macaque monkeys. Yala is also famous for its bird life. There are around 130 species of birds that have been spotted at the premises including black necked stork, sandpipers, pelicans, egrets, hoopoes, parakeets and bulbuls. One could spot peacocks as soon as they enter the park unlike the evasive jungle fowl, the national bird of Sri Lanka.

Yala → Galle → Colombo

Enjoy breakfast at the resort.

Travel for approximately 5 hours to reach Galle and take an enjoyable tour of the 36-hectare Galle fort. 

The magical coastal town is essentially a simple fishing village that boats of a rich cultural heritage. Galle takes credit for having the largest remaining Fortress built by European colonizers in the whole of Asia. Galle has a vibrant town not much different from a typical Sri Lankan town, but walk through the Fort gates and you are transported back in time to a Dutch colonial era. It’s a World Heritage Site and the ocean lapping onto the massive ramparts add to the spectacular setting. The well-preserved stone and coral ramparts offer panoramic vistas of the ocean and red tiled rooftops of Galle Fort. A sunset on the ramparts is not to be missed.

Then you will continue to Colombo (approximately 2 hours). Check into your hotel and spend the day at leisure.

Why do some packages not offer the ability to Book Now on the website?

If a package on our website does not include our Peace of Mind Booking Plan, it will not be available to Book Now.

Due to the boutique nature and limited capacity of some travel experiences offered, they have strict payment and cancellation policies. (e.g., a remote bear lodge in Canada with only a few cabins).

Although technically possible, we have decided that it is impractical for us to try and sell these type of travel services on-line. We believe it is important that such product is discussed, so that we can ensure these strict payment and cancellation policies are understood before we proceed with a booking.

For such product we may act as an agent only for the principal suppliers. Where we act as agent, your contract for the delivery of travel arrangements will be with the principal supplier and will be subject to their Booking Conditions.

We will advise you prior to confirming your booking if we are acting as agent and we will confirm the details of the principal supplier. Our responsibility to you where we sell travel arrangements as agent for the supplier is specified in the ‘Responsibility’ section of our Booking Conditions.

Can you book my international airfares?

Following customer feedback, we do not include international flights in our holiday packages.

We found that many customers may prefer:

  • To travel on specific airlines
  • Have the flexibility to book flights with Frequent Flyer points
  • Select flight dates that may be different to the package start/end dates
  • Use their travel agent for this service

However, we are able to assist, so please just notify us during the Book Now process or contact our team.

Should I take travel insurance?

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. During the Book Now process please confirm you require assistance, and our team will be in contact with you.

What should I do before travelling?

Before you travel it is your responsibility to ensure you have the appropriate documentation including visas. If you are travelling on a passport other than Australian or New Zealand, you will require a permit to re-enter Australia. It is your responsibility as the traveller and/or travel booker to meet all government entry requirements.
