You will start off by exploring the attractive city of Negombo and spend the day at your own leisure. You will then explore Anuradhapura on your second day to witness the Ruwanweliseya, Jetavanaramaya and Abhayagiri stupas which are amongst the biggest architectural creations of the ancient world, surpassed in size only by the pyramids of Giza. You'll head to Sigiraya and uncover the Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will then continue this enthralling journey onto Kandy and visit Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic where you'll be delighted by a very vibrant cultural performance. An unforgettable tea experience awaits you at a tea plantation in Nuwara Eliya. A trip to Yala is definitely not to be missed so you will spend two days exploring the Yala National Park, home to spectacular wildlife. Your last day is truly memorable as you will be able to admire the Galle Fort and spend your last night in the city of Colombo which also boasts a rich colonial heritage.

Day 1
Airport → Negombo

Arrival in Sri Lanka / Meet & Greet at the airport where you will meet your private guide. 

You will then proceed to Negombo (approximately 30 minutes travel time) and check into your hotel. Spend the remainder of the day at your own leisure.

Overnight stay in Negombo at Jetwing Lagoon in a Deluxe Room.

Day 2
Airport → Anuradhapura → Habarana

Enjoy breakfast at the resort.

You will then travel for approximately 4 hours to visit Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s longest lasting capital. Its here you will enjoy an Anuradhapura Ancient city tour

Anuradhapurais one of the greatest monastic cities of the ancient world flourishing with Buddhist culture and crowning architectural achievements. Being the heart of Sri Lankan civilization for over a millennium, Anuradhapura was the royal capital of 113 successive kings who administered the producing of magnificent Palaces, elaborate sculptures, opulent gardens and enormous stupas built to protect the most sacred relics of Buddhism. The three main stupas Ruwanweliseya, Jetavanaramaya and Abhayagiri stupas are amongst the biggest architectural creations of the ancient world, surpassed in size only by the pyramids of Giza.

You will then continue to Habarana to check into your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your own pleasure.

Day 3
Habarana → Sigiriya → Habarana

Enjoy breakfast at the resort.

Today, you will visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and also known as Lion Rock, built on top of a huge boulder in the 5th century consists of 1,200 steps. The first part of the visit is a leisurely walk through the pleasure gardens,  before you start the climb. There are two areas where you can take a break on the way up. This tour takes approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on the speed at which you want to climb. Water is provided. If it looks like it might rain don’t forget to take an umbrella from the vehicle.

Then enjoy a tour of a rural village in Sigiriya (Hiriwadunna Village) which gives you a glimpse of a uniquely interlinked Sri Lankan village life where the villagers go about their daily lives with the greatest respect to nature. Spend a morning in the remote village of Hiruwadunna – an area the locals call ‘God’s village’ and said to be a refuge of King Wasaba followed by a local cooking demo.

Return to the resort and spend the evening at leisure.

Day 4
Habarana → Kandy

Enjoy breakfast at the resort.

Today, you will travel to Kandy, which is located in the central highlands and is home to the Temple of the Tooth (approximately 2.5 hours travel time). Enjoy a tour of the famous Tooth Relic Temple which is surrounded by beautiful hills and countryside with refreshing lush greenery, the town center has a picturesque lake setting, with delightful stalls and a buzzing street market.

Enjoy a Cultural Performance in the evening with more than 7 different dance performances, captivating drumming and the skills of the traditional musicians on display, this show will give you a great insight to traditional Sri Lankan culture.

Check into your resort in Kandy and spend the day at leisure.

Kandy → Nuwara Eliya

Enjoy breakfast at the resort. 

Then you will proceed to Nuwara Eliya (approximately 2 hours travel time), on the way you will stop and enjoy a tour of a local waterfall.

Nuwara Eliya – which means the City of Light, enjoys spring like weather throughout the year. Surrounded by hills and tea plantations, it is a quaint town with English country style houses, half-timbered bungalows and large rose gardens keeps the atmosphere of a misplaced British village. Enjoy a tea experience at a tea factory. 

Check into your resort in Nuwara Eliya and spend the day at leisure.

Nuwara Eliya → Yala

Enjoy breakfast at the resort.

Today you will travel for approximately 5 hours to Yala and visit one of most desired safari destinations, Yala National Park.

Yala National Park is famous for having the highest concentration of leopards in the world! In its essence, the park consists of shrub jungle with rock outcrops along with several fresh water and salt water lagoons. Some of the most prominent sightings in Yala are of leopards, elephants, sloth bears, sambar, spotted deer, jackals, wild boar and buffaloes, langur and macaque monkeys. Yala is also famous for its bird life. There are around 130 species of birds that have been spotted at the premises including black necked stork, sandpipers, pelicans, egrets, hoopoes, parakeets and bulbuls. One could spot peacocks as soon as they enter the park unlike the evasive jungle fowl, the national bird of Sri Lanka.

Enjoy breakfast at the resort.

In the afternoon, take an exciting Jeep Safari at Yala National Park for 3 hours. Return to your resort and you will have the rest of the day to spend at leisure.

Yala → Galle → Colombo

Enjoy breakfast at the resort.

Travel for approximately 5 hours to reach Galle and take an enjoyable tour of the 36-hectare Galle fort. 

The magical coastal town is essentially a simple fishing village that boats of a rich cultural heritage. Galle takes credit for having the largest remaining Fortress built by European colonizers in the whole of Asia. Galle has a vibrant town not much different from a typical Sri Lankan town, but walk through the Fort gates and you are transported back in time to a Dutch colonial era. It’s a World Heritage Site and the ocean lapping onto the massive ramparts add to the spectacular setting. The well-preserved stone and coral ramparts offer panoramic vistas of the ocean and red tiled rooftops of Galle Fort. A sunset on the ramparts is not to be missed.

Then you will continue to Colombo (approximately 2 hours). Check into your hotel and spend the day at leisure.
