Set sail on an extraordinary voyage to one of the world’s most remote destinations—Pitcairn Island, home to just ~50 inhabitants, many of whom are descendants of the HMS Bounty mutineers and their Polynesian companions. Accessible only by sea, Pitcairn lies in the dazzling Pacific between Tahiti and Easter Island, a place where time seems to move differently.
Your journey begins and ends with three nights at Hotel Kon Tiki, a tranquil haven where you can relax, acclimatise, and immerse yourself in Polynesian ambiance before and after your expedition.
Aboard Aranoa, you’ll cross open ocean, engage with Pitcairn’s tight-knit community, explore its rugged landscapes and charming village life, hear the stories preserved through generations, and discover how history still lives in everyday life. This is a voyage for those who crave more than just a destination—this is an immersive meeting of past and present on the edge of the world.

Take time to discover the rich culture and natural beauty of Tahiti and its surroundings. Enjoy casual walks, sample local cuisine, and soak up the vibrant atmosphere of the capital at your own pace.
Overnight stay in Tahiti at Kon Tiki in a Tahitian Room.
Enjoy a leisurely morning at the Kon Tiki before checking out of the hotel.
At the Papeete Cruise Terminal, you’ll board in true Polynesian style, greeted with fragrant flower garlands, lively ukulele music, and warm smiles. As the ship sets sail, the lush mountains of Tahiti gradually fade into the distance, making way for your next Pacific adventure.
Once a stronghold of the Pomare family, Anaa is home to a striking jade lagoon, powdery white-sand motus, and dramatic coral formations known as feo. The locals live sustainably from fishing and copra production, preserving the island’s natural beauty.
In Tukuhora, you can wander through the village on foot or join a local bus tour. For those keen on adventure, the shallow lagoon offers excellent fly-fishing, while a beachside picnic sets the scene for a relaxed afternoon. Optional experiences include a refreshing swim at the “Ogoogo” pito, excursions to Temarie and Putuahara, or exploring the island by bike.
Framed by crystal-clear lagoons, swaying coconut palms and a welcoming village, your arrival in Ikitake will be celebrated with children’s dances and fragrant flower garlands.
Your day’s highlights include shell craft displays, a visit to the old lighthouse, the historic Saint-Paul churches, a fish park, and coral structures dating back to the 19th century. Beneath the shade of a century-old “Tou” tree, you’ll savour a traditional buffet accompanied by the rhythms of local music.
Travel tip: Pack sun protection (SPF 40+), sunglasses, a hat, light clothing and swim sandals for comfort throughout the day.
Unwind on the Pool Deck or retreat to the air-conditioned Lounge, all while taking in sweeping views of the South Pacific. Enrich your journey with fascinating lectures on Pitcairn Island culture and the legacy of the Bounty mutineers.
As evening falls, gather with fellow travellers in the bar for a relaxed and friendly night. The Polynesian crew will proudly share their traditions, filling the air with the lively sounds of ukuleles, guitars, and drums.
Rikitea, the capital of the Gambier Islands, greets you with its dazzling blue-green lagoon, famed for producing some of the world’s finest black pearls. At Karorua Quay, you’ll be welcomed with flowers and treated to tastings of local specialities.
Be sure to visit the beautifully restored Saint-Michel Cathedral, decorated with mother-of-pearl and celebrated as a symbol of Polynesian Catholicism. Afterwards, enjoy lunch on board before setting sail for Pitcairn.
Two centuries after the famous landing, the Aranoa drops anchor in Bounty Bay, at the heart of one of the world’s most remote islands. Step ashore to explore Adamstown, meet the descendants of the Bounty mutineers at the local market, visit the Bounty Museum, and pay respects at the grave of John Adams.
You’ll also enjoy a picnic lunch in the village, shared with the warm and welcoming locals.
Travel tip: Bring non-slip shoes, rain protection, and plenty of water for a comfortable day ashore.
On your second day, take time to explore the village at your own pace or join a walk to the “Highest Point” — the tallest peak in the territory, offering breathtaking views. After lunch on board, the journey continues back to the village of Rikitea on Mangareva.
In Karorua, you’ll be welcomed with the vibrant “PE’I” dance show. Then, set out by truck or on foot to discover the island’s highlights, including Collège Saint-Raphaël, where students learn the art of mother-of-pearl engraving. For those seeking adventure, a hike to the belvedere and the tomb of the kings offers both history and sweeping views.
Afterwards, return on board for lunch, followed by a leisurely afternoon of swimming and relaxation at Teauopapa.
Spend a relaxing day on the Pool Deck or in the comfort of the air-conditioned Lounge, taking in the stunning views of the South Pacific Ocean. Your journey to Hikueru is punctuated with engaging lectures and activities that bring the island’s culture and history to life.
Once a Tuamotu pearl reserve, Hikueru was struck by the cyclone of 1903, a story recounted by Jack London in South Sea Tales. Today, this copra-growing island welcomes you to the marina with music and fragrant flower garlands.
Explore the village and the abandoned Saint-Michel Church — the tallest in the Tuamotus — by truck or on foot, or rent a bike to discover the island at your own pace. Along the way, listen to local legends shared by the islanders.
Lunch is served on board before the journey continues back to the Society Islands.
A day to relax and reflect on your journey. On the way to Papeete, you can take part in a range of engaging conferences and activities throughout the day.
This is the end of our journey. It’s time to say Nānā! (Goodbye) to your travel companions, to the Polynesian staff and Aranui guides.
Morning arrival into Papeete by around 7:00 AM and guests disembark. Our representative will be waiting for you as you disembark to transfer you to the Kon Tiki. Spend a relaxing afternoon, wander through scenic coastal spots, admire local architecture, and explore open-air viewpoints and historic sites that capture the island’s charm.

Our motto for Independent Holiday Packages is start your holiday when and with who you want!
Our Independent Holiday Packages are NOT group tours with set departure dates. Group Tours have specific set departure dates, and of course, you are travelling with unknown passengers in a coach. At Entire Travel Group, our focus is Independent Holiday Packages. Available daily, they are pre-designed, purpose built, packaged itineraries full of memorable experiences delivered by our hand-picked local partners.
Our holidays suit every demographic, from couples to singles, to retirees to families and everyone else in between.
