Embark on a 8-day train journey through Costiera Amalfitana , where we've thoughtfully designed every step of the way for your convenience. With our convenient porterage service at railway stations and our "luggage bus" that ensures your bags are safely transported from one hotel to another, we strive to make train travel a worry-free experience for you.

You will have a full week to explore hidden gems and must-see places in Central and South Italy. Start with a walking tour of Baroque Rome and enjoy a full day at leisure in the “eternal city” with the advantage of the Hop-on/Hop-off bus. The next day reach the Vatican City for your guided tour.

Board on the high-speed train to reach Pompeii and its ancient ruins. You will then reach Sorrento, and start exploring in the following days the pearls of the Costiera Amalfitana, such as Positano e Amalfi. Enjoy your holiday and relax with plenty of free time to visit authentic places at your own pace.

Day 1 Rome

Upon arrival make your way to your hotel in Rome city center. Take your time to settle and relax, then in the afternoon meet your Tour Leader and group and go for a guided stroll throughout the alleys of Baroque Rome, where you can admire the most representative sites such as the magical Piazza Navona and the famous Pantheon. You will even have the possibility to make a wish, throwing a coin into the legendary Fontana di Trevi.

The rest of the evening will be free. Overnight in the hotel.

This morning take advantage of the Hop-on Hop-off bus to get a panoramic tour of the "eternal city" and reach the Vatican Museum. With the "skip-the-line", you will have direct access to the Sistine Chapel and to St. Peter's Basilica to visit the breathtaking masterpieces that you will find inside, as well as a great variety of galleries, with ancient sculptures, tapestry, middle-age maps, paintings, and stunning relics. You will admire the Pietà di Michelangelo and the incredible altar in bronze.

Day 4 Rome Pompei Sorrento

In the morning, after breakfast in the hotel, get on the high-speed train to Napoli.

After an hour's journey, you will begin your wonderful day with a tour of the Sorrentine peninsula, stopping to see the extraordinary Pompeii and its magic. Let the dramatic history of the Roman city, destroyed, and buried by the eruption of the Vesuvius in 79 A.D, touch you. You will walk among the ruins of this mysterious city. Later you will continue to Sorrento, where your hotel, facing the sea, awaits you.

The dinner will be at the hotel and afterward, you can enjoy the rest of the evening at your pleasure.

Day 6 Sorrento Amalfi Coast Sorrento

After Breakfast, depart for a full day excursion for a panoramic ride along the Amalfi Coast. Admire the breathtaking towns of Amalfi, Positano and Ravello in the company of professional guides. On the way, you can admire some of the most beautiful coastal scenery in the world, with rocky mountains on one side, and the cobalt blue sea on the other. You can enjoy the rest of the evening at your pleasure

Can you book my international airfares?

On some Islands Holiday Packages (e.g. Fiji), it is practical to include flights, so where we have done this it is indicated by the plane icon.

However, on the majority of our Holiday Packages, we do not include international flights.

We found that many customers may prefer to:

Travel on a specific airline of their choice
Have the flexibility to book flights with Frequent Flyer points
Select flight dates that may be different to our Holiday Package start/end dates
Use a Travel Credit already held with the airline
Use their travel agent for this service

We are able to assist with flights on any Holiday Package, so please just notify us during the Book Now process or contact our team.

Should I take travel insurance?

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. During the Book Now process please confirm you require assistance, and our team will be in contact with you.

What should I do before travelling?

Before you travel it is your responsibility to ensure you have the appropriate documentation including visas. If you are travelling on a passport other than Australian or New Zealand, you will require a permit to re-enter Australia.
