Day 1 Malaga Granada

Passengers are to make their way to the AC Hotel by Marriott Malaga Palacio at approximately 10:00 a.m where your trip will start. The first stop will be the city of Málaga, where guests will visit the Alcazaba, a magnificent palatial fortification dating back to the Muslim era. Following this, enjoy lunch in Málaga. In the afternoon, your journey continues as you board the coach bound for Granada, where the awaiting Tren Al Ándalus and its crew will welcome you aboard. Settle in, savour a delightful dinner, and spend the night onboard the train in Granada.

Day 2 Granada Linares/Baeza

Following breakfast on board, guests will embark on a tour of Spain's most visited monument, the illustrious palatial complex crafted by the Nazari rulers of the Kingdom of Granada. (Please note that the schedule for the Alhambra visit may vary based on group size, languages, and permissions granted by palace authorities). Afterward, enjoy a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, your exploration of Granada will continue. As the day draws to a close, dine on board while the train makes its way to Linares/Baeza, where the train will spend the night.

Day 3 Linares/Baeza Úbeda Baeza Córdoba

Following breakfast, explore Úbeda and Baeza, two cities recognised as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The itinerary includes a visit to an oil mill for an oil tasting experience. As you enjoy lunch on board, the train will reach Córdoba. Here, guests will embark on a tour of this historic city, once the capital of the emirate and the medieval caliphate of Al Ándalus, known for its grandeur and cultural richness. Dinner and overnight stay will be in Córdoba.

Day 4 Córdoba Ronda

Following breakfast on board, embark on a visit to the Mosque-Cathedral before continuing your journey by train to Ronda. Lunch will be served on board. In the afternoon, you'll explore Ronda, a remarkable town perched on a plateau split by the deep Tajo de Ronda, with the Guadalevín River flowing through its midst. Dinner will be at a local restaurant, followed by an overnight stay in Ronda.

Day 5 Ronda Jerez

After breakfast, the train will reach Jerez, where guests will tour a sherry wine cellar and witness the renowned "How the Andalusian Horses Dance" performance, featuring Spanish music. Lunch will be served in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, followed by leisure time. Dinner will be provided on board the train, and guests will spend the night onboard the train in Jerez.

Day 6 Jerez Cadiz Jerez

Following breakfast, guests will embark on a journey by bus to Cádiz, affectionately known as the "Tacita de Plata/Little silver bowel" and revered as one of the oldest cities in the Western world. Enjoy a comprehensive tour, followed by some free time to explore at your leisure. Lunch will be served in Cádiz before guests return to Jerez for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7 Jerez Seville

As you enjoy breakfast, the train will arrive in Seville, Here, you will bid farewell to the crew and commence your tour of this remarkable city boasting the largest historic center in Spain. As a UNESCO World Heritage City, Seville dazzles with its artistic treasures and enchanting gardens. Indulge in lunch before concluding your journey at Hotel Taberna del Alabardero at approximately 17:00hrs (Hotel night stay not included).

The Al Ándalus Train offers two types of accommodation:

The Grand-Class Room: A cosy room with a private bathroom. It features two single beds that become comfortable armchairs during the day, as well as a minibar, safe, wardrobe, luggage closet, and adjustable air-conditioning. Its functional private bathroom makes good use of space, featuring a shower, hairdryer, and a varied set of welcome items and toiletries. There are 12 Grand-Class Rooms.

Deluxe Suite

The Deluxe Suite on the Al Ándalus Train is a spacious and elegant accommodation comprising a bedroom and a private bathroom, designed for ultimate relaxation and privacy. It boasts a generous double bed measuring 200x150cm, which transforms into a comfortable sofa during the day. The bathroom is roomy and comfortable, featuring a shower, hairdryer, and a selection of complimentary toiletries for guests' convenience. Modern amenities such as a safe, minibar, wardrobe, luggage closet, and adjustable air-conditioning blend seamlessly with the historic train's original charm. A total of 20 Deluxe Suites are available onboard.

In addition, Deluxe Suites also include:

All non-alcoholic beverages in the Suite at no extra charge
The crew provides a service to pack and unpack guests' bags - as well as organise their clothing
Upon request, the bed in the sleeping compartment can be converted between bed-night mode and sofa-day mode.

Can you book my international airfares?

On some Islands Holiday Packages (e.g. Fiji), it is practical to include flights, so where we have done this it is indicated by the plane icon.

However, on the majority of our Holiday Packages, we do not include international flights.

We found that many customers may prefer to:

Travel on a specific airline of their choice
Have the flexibility to book flights with Frequent Flyer points
Select flight dates that may be different to our Holiday Package start/end dates
Use a Travel Credit already held with the airline
Use their travel agent for this service

We are able to assist with flights on any Holiday Package, so please just notify us during the Book Now process or contact our team.

Should I take travel insurance?

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. During the Book Now process please confirm you require assistance, and our team will be in contact with you.

What should I do before travelling?

Before you travel it is your responsibility to ensure you have the appropriate documentation including visas. If you are travelling on a passport other than Australian or New Zealand, you will require a permit to re-enter Australia. It is your responsibility as the traveller and/or travel booker to meet all government entry requirements.
