This morning, the included excursion is a guided tour of Strasbourg and its cathedral. Discover Strasbourg from the water! We'll see all the great sites on the riverbanks, from Petite France — listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1988 — to the European Quarter, where institutions such as the Council of Europe and the European Parliament are located.
After, we'll continue on foot to the magnificent Gothic Cathedral, built over three centuries. The famous west front is decorated with thousands of figures, and its spire measures over 466 feet. The cathedral is built out of pink sandstone from the nearby Vosges Mountains, which gives it its characteristic hue that changes according to the sunlight and the color of the sky.
Standing before the symbol of the city, you'll understand why Victor Hugo called it a "gigantic and delicate" marvel. It is one of the very few Gothic churches with only one tower. Among its wonders are the stained glass windows, including the 46-foot-high Rose Window. The great organ is a masterpiece to see as well as to hear. And the astronomical clock is a Renaissance treasure not to be missed.
We'll return by tour boat to the ship, and spend the afternoon cruising to Breisach. Take advantage of this downtime by enjoying the views from the Sun Deck or participating in an onboard activity. Onboard presentation.
We'll arrive in Breisach at the end of the day. Enjoy an evening of entertainment on board. We'll remain in port overnight.

Enjoy a free morning in Breisach. Join us for a tour of the city. Amble through the picturesque streets of this small city sitting on the banks of the Rhine River. Take a break and enjoy a treat in one of the cafés or ice-cream parlors in the main square. Don't miss a visit to the cathedral, where great panoramic views of the Rhine and Black Forest await. Return to the ship at your own pace.
In the afternoon, join us for an included guided tour of Colmar and the Hansi Village and its museum. We will leave by coach for Colmar. Discover the charming old town and its historic centre with prestigious monuments such as the Maison des Têtes, built at the beginning of the 17th century and named as such for the 111 heads decorating the outside. Strolling through the city is the best way to take in the beauty of the colors, sights, and sounds in Alsace.
We'll come across the quaint quarter known as "Little Venice," once a fishing merchant hub along the Quai de la Poissonnerie. Our tour will continue on to the Hansi Village and its museum. Jean-Jacques Waltz, also known as Oncle Hansi, was an Alsatian artist and activist considered a French hero during both World Wars for his critiques of the Germans. The museum traces his legacy through his considerable works and the impact he had on Alsatian folklore.
We will return to the ship and spend the afternoon cruising to Basel. This evening marks our festive gala evening.

Join us for a full-day trip to the Jungfrau Region*! We'll hop on a coach in Basel and head to Lauterbrunnen, about a 2.5-hour drive away.
From there, we'll board the rack railway that will take us through the Eiger and Mönch mountains to Europe’s highest railway station. The railway, inaugurated in 1912, climbs steadily through the spectacular scenery in the Swiss Alps. Breathtaking views of snow-capped summits, majestic glaciers, and verdant valleys await. The apex of this excursion is Jungfrau Station. Perched at an altitude of over 11,000 feet (3,454 metres), the station offers astonishing views of the Great Aletsch Glacier and surrounding peaks. The train ride is an unforgettable experience combining adventure, nature, and remarkable engineering. We’ll enjoy lunch in a restaurant.
For our return, we'll take the train to Eigergletscher Station, where we'll board a gondola lift to Grindelwald Terminal. This will be another moment to take in the exceptional views of the Alps.
After we arrive in Grindelwald, we'll return to Basel by coach (an approximate 2.5- to 3-hour drive). Enjoy dinner on board. Our ship will cruise to Strasbourg.Join us for a full-day trip to the Jungfrau Region*! We'll hop on a coach in Basel and head to Lauterbrunnen, about a 2.5-hour drive away.

Our motto for Independent Holiday Packages is start your holiday when and with who you want!
Our Independent Holiday Packages are NOT group tours with set departure dates. Group Tours have specific set departure dates, and of course, you are travelling with unknown passengers in a coach. At Entire Travel Group, our focus is Independent Holiday Packages. Available daily, they are pre-designed, purpose built, packaged itineraries full of memorable experiences delivered by our hand-picked local partners.
